We are looking for a highly motivated team leader who enjoys making a difference.

What you can expect:

  • Responsibility for the superordinate planning and steering of all R&D activities, taking into account the collection briefings, the design and brand requirements as well as the company-wide framework plans and strategic goals
  • Responsibility for the timely development of fabrics and trimmings to reach SMS readiness. Responsibility for setting the sourcing agenda
  • Leadership tasks: team leadership and development, mentoring, coaching, personnel development (recognizing and promoting potentials), defining goals, employee appraisals, feedback interviews
  • Optimization of the current supplier portfolio together with the product divisions, supplier evaluation and development, derivation and implementation of measures, sourcing of new suppliers, participation in trade fair visits and supplier trips
  • Participation in material developments in cooperation with suppliers worldwide, cross-product group coordination of developments. Very close collaboration with design and collection management, data management, materials management, buying and quality departments
  • Implementation of the raw materials digitalization strategies, organization of workstreams with interfaces, education and promotion of digital tool usage. Collaboration with 3D business partners and global software providers
  • Promoting and driving sustainability and innovation; research of relevant trends and monitoring of the textile industry as well as derivation of measures for the own unit
  • Education and promotion of synergy effects, knowledge transfer, recognition and use of potentials. Participation in corporate projects and management of projects within the department and across departments


Your profile:

  • Studies or solid training in fashion design/textile industry/materials science and 5+ years managing international teams
  • Excellent management skills and stakeholder communication
  • Highly competent in the areas of organization and coordination
  • Effective leadership skills: inclusive team player, interdepartmental collaboration, high social compentence. Proven track record of delivering KPI's and a deep understanding of metrics, reporting and levers for growth
  • able to clearly articulate strategic approach, opportunities, and risk
  • A feeling for fashion and trends as well as an understanding of collection development processes
  • Self-driven, pragmatic, highly adaptable
  • Problem solving skills, networking skills, entrepreneurial thinking, process thinking, strategic thinking, ability to prioritize effectively
  • Very good english skills
  • Good knowledge of Trimmings/Fabrics and experience in materials and supplier sourcing
  • Ability to travel internationally
