The Team
This position is part of the Global Creative Services team. The Global Creative Services Team is responsible for setting and executing creative brand direction when it comes to physical consumer touchpoints. Included in this are Global Retail, Wholesale, Pop-ups, Windows, and In-Store experiences.

 

 

The Position

The manager Retail Design reports into the Director for Retail Concept Design and Main responsibilities will include overseeing the APAC region’s developments, ensuring global alignment, for the Connect and Inspire stores. This role will represent the global concept team and support on local adaptations to serve local needs and lead the concept development for local Inspire stores, in collaboration with the global concept team, the local Store Development team, local architect, and all other global and local stakeholders to drive premium brand stores and experiences for Tommy Hilfiger.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

CREATIVE

  • Lead design and experience for Inspire stores in the APAC region together with concept design team, Retail experience team and all other stakeholders.

  • Overseeing and signing off all Connect store designs in the APAc regions through weekly design meeting

  • Support on development and design of local adaptations for Connect, ensuring optimal presence in the region.

  • Collaborate with local teams to create optimal consumer experience.

  • Define seasonal updates needed for Inspire stores in APAC region to ensure newness, and collaborate with all stakeholders to bring our stores to life

  • Support PLAY team for development of PLAY in APAC region

  • Oversee local SPARKS (pop-ups)

  • Develop together with global Store Concept design team new concepts for global implementation

 

 

OPERATIONALLY

  • Oversee local strategy and ensure alignment

  • Manage coordination of Concept tools/materials as necessary

  • Manage supplier briefings, sampling process, implementation (A-Z) creative development and execution

  • Lead implementation to market in collaboration with cross functional teams/departments

  • Being the first point of Contact on Concept related issues for the teams operating in the APAC region, with a focus on China

  • Provide guidance and training to store development and external stakeholders for concept

(around 60 stores and 250 SIS projects average per year)

 

 

The Ideal Candidate:

  • 7-10  years’ design experience working at a design agency or in a brand environment, experience in China is a pre

  • University degree in Interior Design or Architecture or related qualification

  • A good balance between creative, technical and analytical thinking.  The ability to think clearly, analyze quantitatively, problem-solve and prioritize tasks

  • Strong oral and written communication skills are crucial, in English and preferably in Mandarin

  • In depth knowledge of retail design, experience design and the retail environment

  • Results oriented person with a strong focus on high quality delivery

  • Great understanding of materials, detailing and value engineering

  • Understanding of commercial requirements and brand equity requirements

  • Work collaboratively and lead multi-national teams

  • Able to lead a team and support team members in their career path

  • Positive, enthusiastic and proactive personality

  • Good SketchUp, AutoCAD, Adobe Indesign, Adobe Photoshop and related software skills

  • Rendering skills  are a plus

  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time is a need
