Associate Technical Designer

 

This position is a great opportunity for someone who is looking to grow their skills as a technical designer and be a part of a tight-knit team. The focus of this role will be in production. However, there will be some crossover with assisting design/ development teams when necessary. 

 

Associate Technical Designer- Sea NY Reports to: Technical Designer

 

Responsibilities: 

-Assist Technical Designer in managing all women’s, kid’s, and home categories from SMS through TOP

-Measure and steam samples in preparation for fittings.

-Attend fittings for SMS, fit samples, PPS, and TOP stages 

-Creating tech packs and setting up grading for styles in all categories. 

-Have good understanding of specs, construction, grading, and pattern correcting. 

-Evaluate samples and advise comments/ corrections to overseas factories at all stages

-Support Technical Designer with daily factory communication

-Work closely in collaboration with the Production Manager 

-Communicate internally with all cross functioning teams to support an efficient workplace

-Assist Design and Development teams when necessary leading up to deadlines and line opening. 

 

Qualifications/ Experience

-Bachelors Degree in Technical Design or Fashion Design

-2-4 years of Technical Design experience

-Women’s wear experience is preferred. 

-Good knowledge of pattern making and grading

-Strong garment and construction knowledge 

-Strong knowledge in technical workmanship and quality

-Excellent verbal and written communication skills

-Strong organizational skills and great attention to detail. 

-Proficient in Excel and Illustrator

-Must be good with problem solving and be able to effectively manage multiple challenges. 

-Must have good attitude and outlook.
