About the Team

The Global People & Culture Team strive to support the operations of the US business through supporting the local retail, wholesale, communications & support functions. The People & Culture Team deliver on a People Strategy which shapes the way we attract, engage, develop & retain our people.

The Global People & Culture Team are expected to strongly partner the region ensuring best practices, talent development and that a consistent internal culture is felt and experienced.

Overview

The Senior People Partner/Head of People will deliver the people & culture strategy for our business across the USA, while ensuring best practices are put in place and that compliance is adhered to. Through business partnering regional leaders, the Senior People Partner/Head of People will help to develop talent and guide the business to make sound & impactful decisions, by being close to the business and building strong and trusting relationships. They will enable the USA business to meet our collective goals by driving performance, an inclusive culture and a compelling employee experience. The Senior People Partner/ Head of People will also be responsible for creating real change by embedding global initiatives in their region.

Reporting directly to the President for the market, and functionally to the Global Chief People Officer, the Senior People Partner/ Head of People has responsibility over the end-to-end employee lifecycle, with support from the Global Centres of Excellence in London, HQ. Responsibilities include, business partnering, talent acquisition, employee engagement, employee relations, learning & development, administration, payroll, benefits and people projects for the region. The Senior People Partner/Head of People will offer strategic support to the President to drive the performance of our business in the region, and will act as a coach and confidant to the leadership team to ensure we are driving engagement & performance as we continue to grow our business. Additionally, the Senior People Partner/Head of People will need to partner the Global People & Culture team in our London headquarters, delivering global initiatives and relaying local needs & challenges and bringing solutions which impact business efforts in the USA.

Your Mission

Business Partnering
  • Develop and drive the people and culture agenda and authentic business objectives for the USA
  • In partnership with senior leaders, drive the people priorities for the teams including team effectiveness, organisational design, engagement and culture, and DEI
  • Is a trusted partner by leaders and the wider business and called on to offer their view point and drive the people strategy
  • Tackles employee relation activities with speed ensuring best outcomes all around
  • Partners business leaders in assessing their teams, setting objectives & identifying development areas
  • Assesses employee engagement survey results and develops action plans
  • Is a sounding board for people to talk through challenges and initiatives and able to coach others
  • Is seen as a leader by peers and able to drive leadership group performance
  • Ensures any people projects are delivered within the region and works with HQ teams to share regional needs and updates on local projects
  • Supports Regional Management team with the achievement of regional People KPIs, improving standards and delivering objectives
  • Has a regular presence within our locations to remain close to the business and our retail teams


Culture & Internal Communications
  • Develops internal communications strategy for the region driving use of internal tools working with our Global Head of Communication & Community
  • Outlines and delivers on culture projects for our corporate population & across the region with our retail teams
  • Ensures a focus on diversity & inclusion is delivered through regional activities
  • Delivers impactful social moments with events such as' holiday party', 'cheers with peers' & 'Meat Free Mondays'
  • Ensures key moments are celebrated and successes recognized


Employee Lifecycle
  • Ensures smooth on-boarding process is delivered all and that new joiners are setup for success
  • Ensures key moments in employee lifecycle are celebrated and recognized
  • Manages employee administrative processes and ensuring the processes are continually improved
  • Continually reviews policies and procedures and ensures adherence and action for breaches
  • Works to ensure off-boarding processes are followed and streamlined
  • Ensures compliance throughout the people processes and that managers are trained to operate within processes
  • Identifies people priorities, risks and opportunities for continuous improvement; researching and sourcing best practices and proposing and delivering commercial solutions which enhance the employee experience


Talent Acquisition
  • Ensures talent acquisition activities happen swiftly and continues to push to reduce time to hire
  • Proactively develops candidate pools by continually meeting & profiling external talent to identify potential successors
  • Ensures internal people involved in recruitment activities are trained and briefed on the process
  • Works with agencies and third parties for support on permanent and temporary placements
  • Ensures all positions are posted online and ensures tracking of talent acquisition KPI's to set targets for improvement


Talent Development
  • Partners leaders to assess the performance of teams and individuals and deliver impactful feedback
  • Career pathing and pipelining internal talent and partnering leaders to help develop their team members to the next level
  • Ensuring annual performance reviews, talent mapping, objective setting and feedback processes happen in an impactful way


Learning & Development
  • Assess learning & development needs of the region through annual reviews and business partnering
  • Develops learning & development plans for the region and coordinates internal and external parties
  • Closely partners leaders to ensure impactful training, workshops and events are delivered
  • Partners HQ team to deliver on the learning & development strategies
  • Instills a culture of personal growth activities to accompany learning & development offering


Payroll, Systems & Benefits
  • Partnering with Global Pay & Reward team ensures bi-weekly payroll & benefit processes are delivered on time and strives for 100% accuracy
  • Partnering with Global Pay & Reward team to ensure end of year processes are completed and liaises with third party payroll provider on all activities & tax needs
  • Manages all benefits administration, with Global Head of Pay & Reward supports annual reviews of benefits offering
  • Drives the use of systems and education so people understand the offering and are trained on systems and processes


Your Talent
  • Previous experience within a People (Human Resources) team, generalist or specialist
  • Is versatile with a collaborative style
  • Is able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Prior experience within a regional office
  • Able to think strategically but also focus on tactical and operational issues
  • Able to business partner and communicate with employees and leaders at all levels


Systems and Essentials
  • Knowledge of US employment rules and regulations
  • Extensive employee relations experience
  • Prior experience of talent acquisition management
  • Experience of using a HCM system
  • Prior experience of management payroll and benefits
  • Able to travel, both within the US and overseas
