Department

Tommy Hilfiger Close to Body is one of the fastest growing engines at PVH Europe.. The division's strategy going forward is to develop a leadership positioning within underwear, loungewear and swimwear and support the overarching business in creating a full lifestyle brand. The department is responsible for a global line, with a focus on strategic product creation.

The department consists of the following teams:

Merchandising - Responsible for the creation, planning and implementation of a successful product strategy which meets the territory specific product requirements and delivers on sales, productivity, brand relevance and margin targets

Design - responsible for the creation of the concept, colors direction, product and qualities of the fabrications to drive the business growth

Sourcing - drives the development process of product made for the European market. Working closely with Merchandising, factories and planning teams in order to deliver high-quality, profitable collections on-time to market.

The Position

This is a global merchandising role responsible for all product creation within the men's underwear and loungewear product categories.

The position reports directly into the Merchandising Manager for Men's Underwear, Loungewear and Swimwear and is a key global product creation representative for all full price channels. The role encompasses the support of the creation and maintenance of seasonal product merchandising lines.

It will require to collaborate with various teams of men product categories to create collection that connects them.

A strong knowledge of the processes, and product requirements for each global market and making sure that these requirements translate into product is key. Since this position is a crucial connecting function between the different departments in the development and merchandising process, the candidate must possess very strong organizational and analytical skills. He, she or they will also have great communication skills, not only in order to support the delivery of an accurate, complete and on-target collection that will drive sales, but also to ensure synergies between all divisions are being maximized.

Key Responsibilities
  • Reports to the Men's Underwear, Loungewear and Swimwear Merchandising Manager
  • Be the product creation specialist and the point of contact for all functions within the assigned categories
  • Elaborate the Range Plan for the Underwear and Loungewear categories with the support of the Manager to ensure all divisional KPIs and targets are met
  • Drive cross-departmental execution between Design, Merchandising, Sourcing and Marketing
  • Own seasonal in-depth booking analysis, identify trends and draw the right conclusions for the category
  • Analyze bookings by product group, channel and market, SKU and colour
  • Highlight product misses and determine future opportunities and needs
  • Liaise / support regional sales teams and internal departments support on any product- related queries
  • Support go to market organization and preparation of all supporting tools for successful launches
  • Responsible for providing pre-market buying commitments and projections to all key stakeholders with the support of the Manager
  • Maintain PLM to ensure all collection KPIs are properly updated (retail prices, styles, margins, etc.)
The Ideal candidate
  • BA Degree or better in a Business Administration / Fashion Merchandising or a related field;
  • Minimum 3 years work experience, preferable within a retail or wholesale fashion or beauty company. Menswear experience is a plus
  • Excellent organizational, communication and negotiating skills necessary
  • High level of accuracy
  • Excellent English communication written and verbal
  • Strong analytical / numeric skills
  • Excellent computer skills including Excel and Power Point
  • Comfortable with presenting to large audiences
  • High flexibility, able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Fast learner, willing to innovate and think outside of the box
  • Strategic mindset, always supported by data
  • Brand ambassador / passionate about the product
  • Team player, Global mindset, strong interest in fashion and market trends
  • Living in the surroundings of Amsterdam or willing to relocate to the Netherlands
  • Able to travel abroad for work if it would be necessary and possible in the future
