Job Overview:

The Visual Graphic Designer is primarily responsible for developing engaging in-store collateral for marketing promotions and special events. Cross-functionally managing the process of creating assets for print production, from vendor quotes to communicating deliverables to all stores.

Essential Functions:
  • Primary role is to create and deliver in-store graphics for Promotional Events, oversee, and review all creative work, ensuring brand aesthetic and high standards.
  • Manage vendor relationships, for print production of Promotional Signage. Includes quoting, purchase orders and tracking.
  • Maximize overall presentation of event signing, in relation to visual campaigns and trend focus in stores.
  • Participate in all creative and conceptual meetings, focus on target team projects.
  • Maintain an integral partnership with marketing regarding the promotional calendar, understanding the promotional cadence and legal requirements.
  • Maximize forward thinking regarding promotional events, understanding the business challenges, analyzing the business needs and offering viable solutions.
  • Partner with Marketing Manager of Promotional Execution and manage Store Promotional Events.
  • Project manage Promotional Events, participate in Event Planning meetings, ensuring all graphics are created and delivered in-store on time.
  • Responsible for creating guidelines of all weekly Signage Promotions, communicating to stores and posting on intranet site.
  • Manage operation (production & delivery) of weekly Sign Box.
  • Assist in design and development of visual concepts for special projects, in department merchandising concepts and seasonal campaigns.
  • Research and stay on trend with the latest cutting-edge ideas and design, in fashion, materials, typography, illustrators and culture.
  • Ability to work independently, take ownership of projects and collaborate with internal and external team members

Qualifications and Competencies:

Bachelor's Degree from a 4-year college or university

3-5 years related experience
  • Computer Program Skills: InDesign, Sketch Up, Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe Acrobat experience required
  • Print Production knowledge: Strong understanding of creating artwork for print production, different substrates, and vendor management, in relation to typography, color palettes, substrates and visual merchandising.
  • Ability to read, write, and interpret documents and design briefs. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong attention to detail.
  • Basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and analytical skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage projects and prioritize next steps with diverse peer and senior teams.
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Practices open and continuous communication, values keeping others informed, effectively presenting information in a clear, concise manner
  • Excellent leadership, facilitation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across functional lines and at many levels

Physical Requirements:
  • Requires periods of walking, standing, communicating, reaching, crouching and climbing ladders
  • Frequent use of computers and other technology, necessary to perform job functions, including handheld equipment, cash register and ability to process register transactions
  • Frequently lift/move up to 25lbs
