JOB PURPOSE

Supporting the Director, Employee Relations, and the wider HR team in the delivery of the ER strategy/plan, you will play a key role in championing and protecting the colleague experience.
  • Lead the provision of Employee Relations support across the Americas
  • Ensure practical, expert and business focused advice is provided, while championing positive employee experience
  • Line manage the Americas ER team
  • Develop and implement effective policies, manager guides and training programmes for the region, to support self-service.
  • Act as a key partner to leaders and HRBPs, advising on the implications of short and long-term decisions and ensuring that policies, processes and practices are consistently applied across the Americas.


RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Deliver high quality employee relations advice and support across the Americas, ensuring a consistent approach to ER practices. Balance practical, solution-oriented advice with ensuring fair treatment of employees, in line with local legislation and Burberry's values.
  • Champion the colleague experience by ensuring equitable resolutions to conflicts and disputes.
  • Leverage ER as a catalyst for growth by supporting business reorganisation, ensuring alignment to critical strategic and commercial objectives.
  • Design and implement core policies and manager guides, supporting focus on building and retaining the best talent, ensuring polices are in line with our values and embedding positive culture.




  • Ensure effective ER training is provided for business leaders and HR colleagues on appropriate labour and leadership practices.
  • Leverage data and analysis to identify emerging internal and external trends regarding organizational culture and employee issues. Work closely with the wider HR community to develop comprehensive, proactive plans and strategies to ensure a positive colleague experience and mitigate the risk to the business.
  • Build and maintain progressive working relationships with relevant trade unions and benchmarking groups and other external bodies.
  • Develop effective partnerships and consult with business partners throughout the organisation including HRBPS, HR COEs, Legal, Asset & Profit Protection, Health & Safety.
  • Identify and manage any risks within the employee relations remit - see, spot, mitigate, eliminate and escalate where appropriate.
  • Oversee complex and high-risk cases, giving guidance to the relevant teams throughout.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to ER Business Partners and ER Advisors on complex cases.
  • Be part of project teams, providing employee relations expertise, as required.
  • Line management and development of ER Business Partners and Advisor(s).

PERSONAL PROFILE

  • Excellent knowledge of employment law and its application
  • Excellent understanding and practical experience of complex employee relations procedures and processes
  • Experience of managing ER advice through business change programmes
  • Demonstrable experience of working as a business partner with senior stakeholders
  • Proven track record of using data to inform decisions and develop strategies to ensure a positive colleague experience.
  • Proven track record of leading teams
  • Experience of contributing to the wider business and ER agenda
  • Experience of working in a large, complex global organisation
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to develop strong internal relationships in order to implement change
  • Works in a collaborative and inclusive way
  • Well-developed diplomacy, influencing and listening skills and experience of providing 'friendly challenge'
  • Strives for excellence and always looks to improve the service offered to stakeholders
  • Embodies professionalism, trust and integrity
