The Team

The Stock Planning team is a function within PVH Ecommerce Merchandising Operations, covering both Tommy Hilfiger and Calvin Klein.
Merchandising Operations covers two areas:
  • Inbound and outbound stock and order management for the ecommerce business
  • Process transformation and business enablement, price optimization

Stock planning focuses on the first area, owning stock inbound prioritization and allocation, replenishment, projection of stock levels, keeping ecommerce stock levels healthy. It works in close connection with ecommerce branded merchandising planning and buying, and the PVH warehouse.

Stock planning is a new team for ecommerce and will expand significantly in the coming years to enable further growth of the TH and CK ecommerce businesses.

The Position

Each Stock Planner has ownership of a broad section of the Tommy Hilfiger and Calvin Klein ecommerce product: apparel, underwear, footwear and accessories.

Ownership covers inbound prioritization, setting replenishment levels, clearance at the end of lifecycle:

Stock Planners are empowered to take decisions on products by agreements on rules and boundaries with buyers and merchandising planners.

Stock planners use cross-brand product group WSSI tools (Weekly Sales, Stock and Intake) with an underlying season breakdown to manage inbound and stock levels. They call out forward peaks and risks to brand merch planners and agree on actions

Buyers and merch planners are kept informed about decisions and check in before some key moments, i.e. removing stock from pickable locations, inbounding sensitive capsules

Stock planners are primarily measured on stock turn, stock availability. KPIs related to sales are also used, like merch planners and buyers: stock planners are not an operations support function.

Key Responsibilities
  • Category stock management: use the WSSI tool to consolidate the inputs from brand teams at category level, project stock and inbound levels and feed back potential forward issues, suggest actions for brand teams to initiate
  • Inbound management - what product are stocked first: ecom product teams and stock planning agree on the rules about what to prioritize within inbound limited capacity; warehouse and supply chain manage the inbound capacity to match trade needs
  • Replenishment / trading stock level: the warehouse sets optimal stock levels of products and skus. These are adjusted based on input by stock planning, using a feedback loop from and into brand WSSIs. Stock level rules are set up with brand ecommerce teams, the operation is run brand agnostic
  • Floor space management: ecommerce stock is graded by trading velocity and managed by warehouse. Stock planning reviews the grading and agrees if and when moving stock within the floor may be beneficial
  • NOS management: how much NOS is needed in the present and in the future. NOS product warrants a focus role due to its volumes
  • Clearance: stock beyond its lifecycle has to move out of the pickable locations regularly, to free up space for new product

The Ideal Candidate
  • Highly detailed oriented, but capable of summarizing and communicating decisions to other teams
  • Comfortable with Excel
  • WSSI usage (Weekly Sales, Stock and Intake) a must
  • Interested in working in close collaboration with merchandise planners, buyers on one side and translating requirements and business goals to warehouse, supply chain teams on the other
  • Preferred education: Supply chain, Inventory management, Fashion management
  • Minimum 3 years professional experience in allocation or planning
  • Basic knowledge of SAP, BW, HANA a plus
  • Ability to travel to the PVH Distribution Centre in Venlo
