Position Overview
This position will manage fabric R&D and sourcing activities from new product development to bulk production covering multi-brand. And will also facilitate good working relationship with internal teams, NY office, suppliers, and factories

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

* Search for new fabric trends and take initiative to work with mills to develop new fabric suitable for the Ralph Lauren brand identities
* Offer the fabric options and development strategy to NY design team for new season development and provide technical suggestions to mills on new fabric development options
* Responsible for partnering with mills to provide a working vendor base that is reliable in quality, price and service
* Work with R&D/ Product Development and US design team on knit fabric development
* Fabric Development chart monitoring for the upfront development till adopted in seasons sample stage
* Monitor and train vendors for new required format, procedures, disciplines
* Negotiation of the development roll, Salesman sample fabric delivery / Costing / MOQ and update all relevant parties for the flash costing
* Maintain and update system data, charts, and generate reports

Experience, Skills & Knowledge

* at least 3 years merchandising experience preferred with US buying office or large trading business
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* Able to work independently
* Fluent in English and Chinese both verbal and written. Mandarin is essential
* Good team worker, organized
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
