Role Summary:

Accessories, Trims, and Embellishments Design intern

Area is looking for a creative Design Intern to assist in the process of developing the collections. Candidate will have the opportunity to work closely with the in-house Accessories and Ready-to-Wear design teams to be a part of the inspirational process and help the collections come to life.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with hand-work to create prototypes and samples for market
• Create mockups in photoshop of potential colorways, materials, etc
• Helping to complete Accessories tech packs and assisting with production tech packs to send to our partner factories overseas
• Taking photos and inventory of prototypes and samples for each new season
• Cross-departmental collaboration and communication
• Support with logistics, packing and shipping samples
• Present ideas thorough research, design boards, 3D samples and hand work
• Assist in daily studio errands when needed, i.e. organization or midtown runs
• Maintaining the design boards- keeping the physical and digital versions updated and organized

Requirements:

• Be in tune with the brand’s esthetic
• Ideally have background in Fashion Design or Accessories Design
• Available at least 3 full days per week 10AM – 7PM
• Currently enrolled in a college or university, or a recent graduate with OPT or J1 Visa
• Highly proficient in spoken and written English
• Based in New York and able to come into the office

• Proactive and willing to learn; positive attitude
• A team player but able to work independently
• Attentive to detail
• Good knowledge of MS Office and Adobe suite
