About the Role

The Buyer for our Drop Ship Program is responsible for supporting the launch of the initiative at Gap Brand and building out its roadmap. You'll be part of a fast-paced, lean team within the Brand that creates with audacity and drives by doing.

As the leader of an assortment Division, you'll own vendor identification and assortment curation, ensuring that we're driving into business goals and key trends. You'll be a hands-on leader of your business from end to end, inclusive of financial sightlines, price strategy and partnership structure negotiations. While moving fast you'll also be accountable to staying connected to our partners across the business who help us bring product to the Customer. The ideal candidate has experience in a lean, entrepreneurial environment delivering results. This position will report to the Sr Director of Digital Strategy.

What You'll Do

  • Translate trends and insights into appropriate assortment for our Gap customer and develop a product and pricing strategy that maximizes sales and profitability
  • Build a forecast, financial strategy and cost positioning, and understanding how the profitability impacts and compares to other business lines
  • Stay customer curious - ensuring the products we choose and how they come to life align with our brand strategy and support customer goals
  • Shop the market to fill voids, identify new vendors and business opportunities, and manage vendor assessment and relationship progression
  • Collaborate with centralized Vendor Onboarding and Dropship resources, supporting seller set-up through product data prep, photography and copy guidance and more
  • Coordinate across all facets of new vendors/products for our Site Merchandising & Marketing teams and develop and maintain cross functional partnerships across the business
  • Analyze in-season selling and identify vendor opportunities or pivots


Who You Are

  • 2-5 years of buying/merchandising experience, dropship/DTC/marketplace a plus
  • Preferred Bachelor's degree
  • A product storyteller with keen fashion sense and trend forecasting ability
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and problem solving skills
  • Strong retail math acumen, business and financial analysis skills
  • Entrepreneurial, move-fast-learn-fast spirit - you'll be empowered as a new business leader
  • Strategic but detailed - you need to set objectives and then manage to them / manage up
  • Willing to work remote / hybrid with ability to travel and manage across dual coasts
