Position/Title: Digital Data Governance Senior Manager

Location: Shanghai

Reports to: Tapestry China Director, Digital Data Operations and Optimization

The digital data governance senior manager will be responsible for driving and implementing data strategy in alignment with corporate vision and strategy, defining data governance framework and establishing data policy and standards. This role will report to the China Digital Head, which supports all of the Tapestry brands. This role will work with digital data team, analytic team and IT team to deliver information, insights, and recommendations to optimize Tapestry's digital data assets and support a data-driven culture. S/he will champion how brand data assets well managed and be good at establishing the process and standard how to process the data. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a deep understanding of how to maximize the value of data, a willingness to work within a highly matrixed organization, and possess a passion and curiosity for data management and governance.

Key China market responsibilities will include the following:
  • Lead the introduction, application and adherence to data governance concepts and behaviors across tapestry data and analytics solution, drive data architecture optimization, ensuring we are meeting business needs while balancing quality, available and cost.
  • Manage brand data assets, drive and implement data strategy in alignment with corporate vision and strategy
  • Define and communicate data governance strategy across the organization
  • Define clear data governance structure, R&R and process
  • Accountable for defining data quality management techniques to measure and improve the data quality
  • Oversee the definition of processes for monitoring, measuring and reporting compliance with acceptable levels of data quality (completeness, validity, consistency, timeline and accuracy)
  • Collaborate with data analytic team and IT team to establish data policies and standards including enforcement of data quality, security and management concepts
  • Exercise strong leadership working both independently and with projects teams to understand, research, determine, document and communicate data quality direction


The accomplished individual will possess...
  • Bachelor's degree in business or a technical discipline, or equivalent level of experience in a data analysis/ data quality, data governance or related fields
  • 6 - 8 years of experience in developing and implement data quality and data governance standards, practices, processes
  • Ability to successfully champion the role and realities of data governance in building preserving data integrity and credibility
  • Knowledge of data governance practices, business and technology issues related to management of enterprise data assets and approaches related to data protection
  • Experience with data governance solutions implementation like data catalog, data quality hub, master data hub, m eta data hub, data warehouse etc.
  • Strong ability to understand, interpret and apply data governance to improve data quality
  • Deep understanding of data governance and architecture principal
  • Excellent communication and project management skills, strong process orientation
