The Director, Collaborations will drive the global strategy for Coach Collaborations

Responsibilities:

  • Product and Business Strategy
    • Lead and communicate the Brand strategy for Collaborations, leveraging product opportunities and business initiatives across domestic and international channels.
    • Partner with the Marketing, Design & Merchandising teams to identify both new and existing Collaboration partnership opportunities in keeping with Coach Strategy.
    • Actively partner with merchandising peers to ensure synergy across total strategy and product execution.
    • Partner with Business Unit Buying teams to understand, influence and drive business objectives/customer needs and identify Collaboration product opportunities.
    • Partner with Marketing teams to create campaigns, assets and activations to foster amplification of Collaborations


  • Assortment Planning
    • Partner with Global Merchandising teams on building assortment for each Collaboration
    • Partner with Global Merchandising Planning on size of Collaboration opportunity
    • Communicate changes and impacts cross-functionally
    • Ensure that corporate deadlines are met in order to develop and deliver product on a timely basis for Collaborations


  • Project Management
    • Project manage all collaborations in close partnership with cross functional partners (Design, Product Development, Global Merchandising, Global Merchandise Planning, Marketing, PR etc)
    • Maintain business processes by supervising total partner on-boarding from invoicing and royalty reporting to compliance testing.


  • Market Analysis & Reporting
    • Analyze sales to gain comprehensive understanding of the state of the businesses. Provide global analysis that drives consensus and overall strategy.
    • Partner with Finance to share collaboration results to Licensors per mutually agreed upon cadence as listed in contract.
    • Identify product opportunities through regular hind-sighting that incorporates: consumer research, business unit feedback and sales performance analysis.
    • Maintain updated knowledge of key competitor product, distribution and pricing strategies.
    • Analyze ROI of each Collaboration.


  • Negotiation
    • Negotiate contract terms and conditions with external partners regarding new Collaboration Opportunities including payment method, Royalties and Fees, distribution channels, liquidation opportunities, etc.
    • Partner closely with Legal to direct contract execution.


  • Organization and Team
    • Create and foster a strong culture of learning and development for direct reports and team
    • Establish relationships with Design, Global Planning, Product Development, Legal, Finance, Visual Merchandising and Marketing
    • Create partnerships with key global Merchandising peers and Business unit Merchants

An accomplished individual will possess...

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum 10 years merchandising/buying experience in related business or brand with demonstrated product development experience, preferably in a vertical retail environment
  • Minimum 3-4 years people management experience
