Helmed by designer and multifaceted Nigerian creative Mowalola Ogunlesi, MOWALOLA is the new-gen fashion brand finding critical and commercial acclaim for its progressive and playful designs – and a whole creative world that goes with it.

MOWALOLA is looking to hire a Business Operations Manager to join their growing team. The Operations Manager will be responsible for overall Operations (incl. Project Management, Finance management and HR & Team Management).

 

The Person:

  • Experience working in the luxury fashion industry
  • Minimum 3 - 5 years experience working in industry operations, HR and practices
  • Outgoing personality and the ability to develop and manage client relationships
  • Excellent project management and problem-solving skills
  • Proven Project Management and E-Commerce management
  • Proven ability to effectively manage and motivate a team
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environments and internationally (when required)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A genuine interest and desire to work in the fashion industry and a desire to develop your knowledge and skillset in this industry
  • An ability to drive a positive, inclusive and supportive working environment that respects and recognises all members of the team
  • Experience with brand partnerships and negotiating deals

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

E-Commerce

  • Create a strategy to grow E-commerce sales including a plan for growth experiments, regularly reviewing existing sales and customer data and creating monthly reports with recommendations for improvement.
  • Oversee the fulfilment and be the key point of contact for the fulfilment company, support on any customer or stock issue.

 

Project Management

  • Work closely with our in house management to oversee all brand collaborations as well as internal projects like shows and pop ups.
  • Work alongside the Studio Manager to ensure all briefs are in on time with required information needed (sizes, tech specs etc). Ensure assets required to start the project are delivered in line with set schedules
  • Chair monthly goal setting meetings to ensure all team members are aware
    of key business priorities and are being held accountable for their work.
  • Ensure NDAs & contracts are signed and filed appropriately.

 

Finance

  • Manage full invoicing process and ensure compliance with payment terms
  • Produce quarterly cash flow reports of expected incomings and outgoings as well as revenue forecast reports for each quarter
  • Develop and agree with Directors annual and quarterly budgets for the business based on activities.
  • Develop and manage budgets for upcoming shows and projects.
  • Liaise with accountants to provide information and documents in regards to: closing stock, VAT submissions etc.

 

HR & Team management

  • Oversee the Mowalola Ltd Studio Team (Design Assistants, Studio Assistant, Interns, Graphic Designers, Design Freelancers & Pattern Cutters), ensuring their well being, being a source of motivation and the main point of contact for any personnel queries
  • Manage the recruitment process of new team members with the Creative Director & Studio Manager
  • Onboarding of new starters / leavers.
