As a Data Engineer, you will build end-to-end analytical solutions that are highly scalable, performant, secure, and resilient. You rely on sound judgement, critical thinking, and creativity to deliver customer focused data solutions that create meaningful business impact. You are experienced with various patterns of data ingestion, processing, and curation. You understand criticality of data quality, security & governance practices and are adept at it. You design solutions with strategic and long-term focus on code quality, reliability, reusability, maintainability and data ops. You are experienced in building efficient and scalable data services.
The ideal candidate for this position would be a passionate pioneer in technology, a solutions builder, a roll-up-your-sleeves technologist who wants a daily collaborative environment, think-tank feel and shares new ideas with his/her colleagues.

A Day in the Life:

The typical day is... atypical. You might be:

  • Strategizing and prioritizing next generation product initiatives, develop processes and solutions, and drive projects to completion
  • Hands-on development work on all aspects of data analysis, data provisioning, modeling, performance tuning, and optimization.
  • Designing, implementing and operating large-scale, high-volume, high-performance data structures for analytics
  • Building solutions in Hadoop (Hive, Impala) and GCP (Big Query), No SQL etc.
  • Performing Data analysis in a wide variety of database technologies, Python, complex SQLs, and other tools.
  • Building scalable data pipelines for both real time and batch using best practices in data modeling, ETL/ELT processes utilizing various technologies such as Spark, Kafka, Airflow, Informatica.
  • Performing root cause analysis of issues that hinder the data quality. Work with data source owner to increase quality and accuracy of the source data.
  • Continually improving ongoing reporting and analysis processes, automating or simplifying self-service modeling and production support for customers.
  • Collaborating with engineers to drive best practices in code quality & reusability, data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation
  • Developing and maintaining databases, datasets, pipelines and Customer Data Platform (CDP) to enable advanced segmentation, targeting, automation and analytics

To Land This Role:
  • Bachelors or Master's degree in computer science, software engineering, mathematics or IT or relevant work experience
  • 3+ Experience with the cloud technologies (AWS, Azure or GCP) - GCP Preferred.
  • 3+ Experience with non-relational & relational databases (SQL, MySQL, NoSQL, Hadoop, MongoDB, Big Query etc.) - Google Big Query (Preferred)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of SQL, Python, Scala or other modern data and analytics programming languages.
  • 2+ Experience in creating robust enterprise-grade data engineering pipelines using SQL, Python, Apache Spark.
  • 2+ years of Data architecture experience
  • 2+ years of SDLC experience
  • Drive operational efficiency through Dev Ops, CI/CD process.
  • Retail or Ecommerce experience preferred.
  • Good understanding of AGILE process and methodology.
