The Central Planning and Buying team is responsible for the selection, range building and product strategy for the Region North (UK, Ireland, Netherlands and the Nordics). In a constantly changing retail environment, we strive to build the best assortment for each of our retail, wholesale and concession partners based upon customer profile, sales targets and regional retail landscape.

Working closely with all key retail and store teams (Merchandising, Wholesale, Retail Operations and Visual Merchandising), collaboration, strong communication and a passion for opportunity and success are the foundations for this team.

Reporting into the Junior Planner/Planner, the Assistant Planner plays a key role in supporting the team to deliver the range strategy for a number of divisions for one of our brands across the Region North. Focusing on our seasonal ranges they will work closely with the wider Buying and Planning team to ensure a cohesive strategy across multiple sales channels and countries.

They will be pivotal in creating and interpreting analysis to back-up the range plan strategy and will work with Retail and Wholesale partners to optimise cross channel trading.

Responsibilities include:
  • Contribute to departmental merchandising planning strategy, with the customer and brand in mind

  • Prepare analysis packs as necessary and pull together strategy recommendations under the guidance of the Planner

  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders across both Region North and Amsterdam head office teams

  • Support in the running and analysis of weekly/monthly and seasonal trade reports

  • Manage central planning documents ensuring key deadlines are hit for both Retail and Wholesale central functions

  • Manage sizing analysis and proposes future strategy to line manager

  • Optimise range performance through micro-range analysis and reporting, working with the trading teams

  • Manage and propose OTB (Open to Buy) opportunity with retail teams and align with wider range planning strategy

  • Work with Wholesale teams to support in-season trading across a number of partners

  • Maintain planning data/fields within various systems: SAP BW/ HANA, Excel. Focus on accurate management of seasonal line details

  • Support selling teams function with production of Retail and Wholesale support assets

  • Work very closely with Retail teams to ensure smooth process for new and refit stores

  • Formulate new systems and processes aiming to continually improve merchandising practices

  • Support post season analysis and feedback creation for Retail and Wholesale channels

About YOU
  • You have previous experience at Assistant Merchandiser level (or equivalent) within a fashion/retail business
  • You have advanced Excel skills and excellent planning and analytical skills
  • You Connect to Consumers and Make Informed Decisions together to deliver customer-centric solutions and achieve great results
  • You have experience working in a faced paced environment and can Adapt Fast to the business needs and priorities
  • You're commercially astute and highly analytical, Making Informed Decisions and communicate with impact across all levels
