Primary Purpose
The Merchandiser is responsible for driving execution of all RTW garments to the desired quality, cost and delivery. Assisting the Merchandising Manager, the position covers daily communication and follow-up for all fabrics, trims and garments from development through to final bulk production. He/she is a key member within the Regional Support Team and a critical extension of the NY RTW team, serving as the primary communication link between internal RTW teams and external Service Providers (SP's).

The successful individual will leverage their proficiency in Merchandising to...
- Manage RTW development and production with SP's ensuring execution to design intent, quality, cost and delivery
- Communicate and drive calendar milestones in partnership with NY RTW team
- Daily communication and follow-up with NY RTW Team, Asia RTW Team and SP's for all Asia-sourced RTW product
- Partner with the Technical Design Team, RTW in sample evaluation during development and bulk production
- Support the Raw Materials Team, RTW in anticipating any material risks and developing solutions during development and bulk
- Support onboarding of new SP's
- Work with SP's in providing inspiration and innovation to elevate RTW product
Tactical
- Partner with NY and Asia based RM's Teams to support trims and embellishment sourcing
- Process sample and trim orders at all stages of development in conjunction with NY RTW team
- Manage sample invoicing process
- Preview styles and costing to ensure accuracy prior to submission to NY RTW team at all stages of development and production
- Host the Weekly WIP call with factories - NY/Vendor
- Conduct Seasonal Line Review Meeting with Merchandising/Vendors/Compliance at bulk adoption
- Support and facilitate NY team trip planning
- Visit SP's as necessary
The accomplished individual will possess...
- Bachelor's degree in Fashion or equivalent industry experience
- 2+ years' experience in apparel industry with a concentration in RTW merchandising, product development, & multi-region garment manufacturing
- Strong communication skills in written & spoken English
- Luxury brand background a plus
- Experience in working with sample rooms, patternmakers and factories
- High attention to detail
- Proficiency in Web PDM, PLM, Illustrator and Outlook
- Ability to undertake frequent travel, throughout Asia
- Knowledge of AQL and quality control systems
