JOB PURPOSE
The Test and Release Analyst will be responsible for supporting Retail IT's Test function along with planning and managing individual releases for new or enhanced IT services. They will facilitate test reporting/planning, service readiness and plan and coordination of service validation activities to deliver successful release deployments without negatively impacting existing services.

JOB PURPOSE
The Test and Release Analyst will be responsible for supporting Retail IT's Test function along with planning and managing individual releases for new or enhanced IT services. They will facilitate test reporting/planning, service readiness and plan and coordination of service validation activities to deliver successful release deployments without negatively impacting existing services.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Administration of the Retail test environments
- Support the Test and Release Manager to plan and monitor individual releases, and facilitate their effective and efficient testing and deployment
- Production and communication of MI to stakeholders, such as test status reports, defect and incident reports, deployment status and metrics.
- Provide the Service Transition Manager with progress reports and metrics, contributing to as a successful IT-wide service transition approach
- Collaborate with the Test Manager and Change Manager to create change management plans and to contribute towards readiness for change by the affected groups on in-scope release
- Ensure service readiness documents (release and deployment plan, release schedule, operational service documentation, readiness risk plans, etc.) are maintained and ready for acceptance by stakeholders
- Ensure that transition risks and mitigation are effectively documented once identified and accepted
- Ensure Change Requests are created to required standards and submitted in line with SLAs
- Ensuring key reporting on Test and Release progress/activities is maintained and communicated
- Monitoring and reporting on status and progress of Warranty issues occurring post release
- Supporting Lessons Learnt and Retrospective reviews process to identify improvement opportunities.
- Support the production of release plans for the Retail IT product landscape that provides clarity of what is being released and when.
- Collaborate with Business Analysts and Project Managers to understand the scope and impact of changes to inform Test and Release plans
- Identify changes to current ways of working and methods to support continuous improvement

- ITIL (desirable)
- Testing Principles
- Software Delivery Lifecycle
- Service Management principles
Skills
- Strong understanding of IT services, service readiness and the required deliverables / outcomes
- Presents a welcoming attitude to change and adjusts dynamically to continuous business change and improvement
- Ability to understand the impact of changes to IT services on business function operations
- Experience with Remedy or similar service management tool
- Experience with Jira would be beneficial
