Zalando Beauty Proposition was established in 2018 by a team of colleagues across Business Development, Buying, and Merchandise Planning. Since then the team has grown significantly, making impressive inroads into the Beauty market, and delivering exponential growth. Our assortment has grown to more than 550 brands across make-up, skincare, fragrances, haircare, and beauty accessories and now includes iconic names like MAC, Estee Lauder, Clinique, Charlotte Tilbury and Urban Decay among others.

Looking forward, we set our sights on scaling the business and building the foundations for online Beauty leadership in the future including building unique partnerships with the most iconic Beauty partners like Sephora.

As a Team Lead Strategic Partner Management - Beauty, you will play a key role in building the Beauty Partner side of the Beauty proposition, including Sephora Partnership. You will be a key contributor to defining the Partner Strategy for Beauty. You will be accountable for setting and achieving commercial targets/objectives for a defined set of Beauty partners across all Beauty markets with the support of an assigned team and broader Zalando organisation (zDirect, ZMS, CR, etc.). Together with your team you will lead and support strategic partners with highest complexity and impact, setting the standard on how to execute roadmaps, goals and objectives.

  • Be a key contributor to defining overall Beauty Partner Strategy, a recently established business segment of the Beauty proposition.
  • Expand Beauty Partner business across all relevant Beauty markets and establish Partner Program as a major growth driver for the Beauty Proposition.
  • Drive long term commercial success of the existing strategic Beauty partnerships for Zalando, including the iconic Beauty partnership between Zalando and Sephora.
  • Support the Beauty proposition in evaluating and executing new partnerships.
  • Work very closely with both internal and external stakeholders to drive and contribute to our overall Beauty proposition growth.
  • Lead, support and grow Beauty Partner team.
  • Strategy and account planning: Develop, maintain, and execute strategic account plans with clearly set objectives, building blocks, roadmaps and timelines.
  • Platform Management: Link the Zalando Platform vision and project landscape with the partner's needs, and financial and strategic plans. Drive cross-department partner focused initiatives and ensure their timely implementation.
  • Financial Planning: Set and align the commercial growth targets for the partnership with the selected brands. Integrate Zalando business models and services feeding into the plans and track target achievements.
  • Negotiations: Set and negotiate terms and conditions. Ensuring a positive and commercially viable partnership for each party.
  • Stakeholder Management: Ensure transparency across stakeholders to facilitate project progress. Maintain a strong network within the partners' organisation and enable structured relationship management.
  • Leadership: Leading people is your passion. Alongside your key functional responsibilities, you will be fully responsible for leading, coaching and developing your team by identifying their strengths, development areas and training needs.
  • You gained 8+ years of relevant work experience in consumer-oriented commercial, partner-facing, or/and highly analytical roles. E-commerce industry required, Beauty e-commerce is a plus.
  • You are a strategic and commercially focused professional with impressive analytical skills, critical mindset, and a solid understanding of the P&L lines in an ecommerce - retailing environment.
  • You have a proven track-record of setting commercial and broader financial goals, translating these goals into a clear plan to achieve them with clear building blocks, and finally reaching the set objectives in the defined timeframes.
  • You have a proven experience and in-depth understanding of the European Beauty market and new trends that are happening in Beauty globally.
  • You have outstanding communication skills and stakeholder management abilities across both internal and external stakeholders to ensure transparency across stakeholders and having one tone of voice towards partners.
  • You have a strong understanding of the negotiation process, and how most relevant Beauty brands think and how to build win-win situations between Zalando Beauty and partners.
  • Supportive and inspiring leader, while being a proactive and action-oriented team player, highly organised, self-directed and motivated, with a passion to help junior team members develop and acting as a role model for the team.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills (in English); track record of influencing senior leaders and teams to make impactful decisions.
