Placement - Jewellery Benchwork & Design

Job purpose: to assist both the workshop manager and design team to ensure production and design briefs are delivered on time and to an exceptional standard, helping to drive the brand forward.

Role including but not limited to: 

• Benchwork including cleaning of castings, basic soldering, pendant drill work, pearl and bead stringing, ring sizing;
• Liaising across the industry spectrum including with suppliers and craftspeople;
• Ordering components and raw materials in an accurate and timely manner;
• Accepting raw material deliveries and checking off against delivery notes, raising any discrepancies as necessary;
• Accurate stocktaking and monitoring of components;
• Requesting and collating from vendors all composition information for raw materials, sharing with the Sales and eCommerce teams at the beginning of each season;
• Arranging courier deliveries including preparing all corresponding paperwork;
• Maintaining up-to-date trackers of expenditure as required;
• Researching of new techniques and materials;
• Multi-tasking around the fast-paced process of building and presenting collections to a strict schedule;
• Preparing design specs accurately and concisely;
• Assisting with creation of design mood boards;
• Working to research briefs and collating findings;
• Quality control to an exceptional standard;
• Assisting with organisation of studio and archives including keeping the workshop area and supplies clearly organised and labelled;
• General administrative tasks.

Skills required:

• Basic jewellery benchwork skills;
• Previous internship experience in a similar role beneficial;
• Ability to confidently communicate across teams as well as externally;
• Ability to work to deadlines;
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities on a daily basis;
• Highly organised with meticulous attention to detail;
• Interest in the world of Completedworks and a passion for luxury goods;
• Interest in and commitment to sustainable practices.
