PVH Merchandising is responsible for the budgeting, product trading and supply chain strategy for the Region North business. In a constantly changing retail environment, they look to drive the optimum assortment for each retail location, based upon: customer profile, sales targets and regional retail landscape.

Working closely with all key retail stakeholders (buying, retail operations, visual merchandising and store teams) collaboration, strong communication and a passion for opportunity and success are the foundations for this team!

The Senior Branch Merchandiser plays a key role in supporting the Merchandising team to maximise commercial opportunities for Tommy Hilfiger and Calvin Klein brands.

Reporting into the Merchandising Director they will be expected to drive sales and profit through effective store budgeting, actively reviewing sales densities and by partnering with our Retail team.

Responsibilities include:

Best In Class Merchandising:
  • Propose and sign off store planning yearly budget targets, ensuring they are in line with overall company vision
  • Manages the space planning and capacity management, own initial density targets and review in-season to optimise space and maximise profit densities
  • Own the grading and clustering of the store portfolio
  • Take full ownership of the Trading Calendar, ensuring we have correct history and future plans in place, including promotions, sales, bank holidays and any other events
  • Be responsible for stock and option management for new store openings, refits and store closures including seasonal and NOS (Never out of Stock) management, be the point of contact for retail teams into planning and merchandising functions
  • Oversee and manage channel and country sales and profit forecasting, ensuring this links to the Merchandising WSSI, identifying any opportunities or risks and presenting back in line with monthly WSSI sign off whilst aligning with Finance
  • Drive and support trading opportunities at a store and partner level, coordinating feedback from the Retail teams and feedback to the Merchandising function in a controlled and efficient manner
  • Own the store portfolio documentation ensuring one consistent and up to date view of current store portfolio
  • Partner with Supply Chain and Depot Centre to ensure future intake is planned and capacity targets are met
  • Manage the store to store transfer process
  • Undertake store visits and work with key stores to support their performance and assess your department against your competition

  • Partner with Retail leads to influence trading decisions and strategic actions, be the key contact in channel trading meetings, manage retail teams store requests and feedback and co-ordinate feedback to merchandising and planning functions
  • Have regular communication with peers across the Region to align on best practices
  • Partner with Senior Merchandiser and Senior Planner to ensure cohesion across the functions
  • Develop strong relationships across Buying and Merchandising, Operations, Supply Chain, Retail and the teams in Amsterdam
  • Continue to build strong commercial relationships with any external partnerships
  • Work closely with the Profit Protection team to have a positive impact on margin erosion
  • Work closely with the Retail Operations team to help drive Omni-Channel best practice
  • Work with the Amsterdam division/s to exploit their capability and ensure ways of working are established in line with the business model

High Performing Team:
  • Manage, train and guide the Branch Merchandising team to effectively deliver all best in class merchandising practices
  • Be an Ambassador and lead by example for the whole Branch Merchandising function
  • Coach, develop and nurture future talent by always upholding the best in class merchandising values
  • Drive part of the Buying & Merchandising leadership group, collaborating with peers across Planning, Branch Merchandising and Supply Chain
  • Perform a yearly talent mapping of team to ensure strengths and weaknesses are acted upon
  • Create best in class training modules to ensure highest standards are met
  • Partner with the Merchandising Director to ensure succession planning is always front of mind
  • Lead on the recruitment process for Branch Merchandising function

Systems & AI:
  • Have a full understanding of all internal systems and processes
  • Implement and exploit new systems and processes to continually improve merchandising processes
  • Understand and champion of any AI tools
  • Have a full understanding of what different AI approaches are available on the marketplace

  • You have a proven track record in the role of Merchandiser/Senior Merchandiser within a fashion/retail business
  • You have excellent planning and analytical skills
