PVH Merchandising is responsible for the budgeting, product trading and supply chain strategy for the Region North business. In a constantly changing retail environment, they look to drive the optimum assortment for each retail location, based upon: customer profile, sales targets and regional retail landscape.

Working closely with all key retail stakeholders (buying, retail operations, visual merchandising and store teams) collaboration, strong communication and a passion for opportunity and success are the foundations for this team!

Reporting into the Merchandiser, this role will support in driving sales and profit through effective inventory management and in season trading decisions, the Assistant Merchandiser plays a key role in supporting the Merchandising team to maximize commercial opportunities.

Responsibilities include:

Best In Class Merchandising:
  • Store Management - analysing brand performance and space within all stores and recommending actions / changes to the Merchandiser
  • Manage WSSI set up and in-season management of sales, profit, stock and Open to Buy (OTB)
  • Forecast line cards assess stock requirements and make relevant actions
  • Forecast accurately daily and weekly sales in line with changes to promotional calendar, public holidays and pay days
  • Manage terminal stock- have an understanding of sell thru KPI's and propose actions for both in-season and end of season stock management, understanding profit implications
  • Contribute to departmental Merchandising trading strategy, with the customer and brand in mind
  • Prepare analysis packs as necessary and pull together strategy recommendations under the guidance of the Merchandiser
  • Support in the running and analysis of weekly trade reports and making recommendations to the Merchandiser on weekly and monthly action plans
  • Undertake stores visits and work with key stores to support their performance and assess your department against your competition

  • Regular communication with peers across the region to align on best practices
  • Work closely with planning and buying teams to influence future buying and planning decisions
  • Participate in Area Manager Contact Scheme
  • Collaborate with Profit Protection team to drive efficiencies in key stores around loss prevention
  • Develop strong relationships across Buying and Merchandising, Operations, Supply, Stores and Amsterdam teams

High Performing Team
  • Manage, train and guide the Merchandise Admin Assistant to effectively deliver initial allocations, replenishment and exit strategy in the most efficient way
  • Oversee and support with the allocation process, including never-out-of-stocks (NOS). Ensure we remain reactive to trading environment and suggest changes to initial allocation plans
  • Support the Merchandising function in training new Merchandise Admin Assistants on the team

Systems & AI
  • Ensure full understanding of all internal systems and processes
  • Implement and exploit new systems and processes to continually improve merchandising ways of working
  • Understand and champion any new AI tools

About YOU
  • You have previous experience at Assistant Merchandiser level within a fashion/retail business
  • You have advanced Excel skills
  • You have excellent planning and analytical skills enabling you to Take Ownership in your work
  • You're commercially astute and a confident decision maker, communicating with impact across all levels to Inspire Trust
  • You're a strong team leader with an ability to manage, motivate and work effectively within a small team
  • You Stay Curious and have in-depth knowledge of the current competitive market place and Connect to Consumers
