Position Description:

The Director of Global Visual Merchandising will be responsible for leading the global Visual Merchandising department and for defining, designing and executing the global Visual Merchandising strategy across retail, distributor partner, and wholesale points of sale.  This role will lead and execute product presentation and all visual elements for seasonal market showrooms.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Define and execute global product presentation strategy and standards that elevate brand image at all points of sale, and support product merchandising and commercial objectives
  • Manage all VM tool development and design for stores and showroom, in close partnership with Store Planning and Retail Operations
  • Create digital and/or physical mockup designs at HQ to be executed in store settings
  • Oversee all aspects of production and design for store installations, as they relate to merchandise presentation
  • Create and coordinate showroom merchandising, installations and all visual experiences
  • Hire, coach and develop global visual merchandising teams
  • Manage annual financial budgeting and reforecasting process for GVM department, including projecting and tracking costs and invoices for all expenses (ie: merchandising, display, installation, production, design and freelancer budgets)
  • Be the strategic owner of all global visual merchandising responsibilities
  • Partner closely with Marketing, Merchandising, Retail, eCommerce and Wholesale teams to ensure consistent 360-degree product messaging across all channels globally

 

 

Requirements:

  • Luxury Background preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 8-10 years related experience
  • Ability to present concepts clearly, and gain alignment and direction across Senior Management, Channel heads, and cross-functional teams
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interface with global Wholesale customers, Distributor partners, Sales and Retail teams
  • Excellent leadership and team development skills
  • Superior organizational and project management skills
  • Process-oriented and time-management skills
  • Strong analytical & problem-solving skills and a high level of attention to detail
