Zalando's People & Organisation (P&O) department is looking to evolve our International Mobility function, and therefore we are looking for a Senior Mobility Expert to help us succeed in this journey. Mobilising employees to work in foreign countries requires a diverse set of skills, talents and knowledge and we will need you to advise on and facilitate various types of working arrangements in the mobility world - such as international and cross-border setups, and provide support to the business unit stakeholders and new hires.

  • Provide advisory support, guidance and solutions to Candidates, Employees, Leaders, Business Unit Stakeholders and HR Business Partners on various mobility scenarios around immigration, relocation, taxation, social security, shadow payroll, etc.
  • Address all employment questions of international employees and leaders to ensure the right legal set up - for example, handling immigration-related aspects of movements, and helping to navigate the unfamiliar legislative environments in which they work.
  • Coordinate employment queries with other departments such as Payroll, Finance, Legal, Travel, and Compliance as well as third party vendors to ensure that timely and high-quality mobility services are provided
  • Contribute to the development and scaling of our International Mobility strategy, policies and processes, through review and recommendation of improvements to our international mobility approaches and benefits
  • Create, review and maintain international mobility templates, guidelines, instructions and provide training to our internal teams
  • Support, drive and execute on global mobility projects and initiatives as required

  • You have a minimum 4 years' of practical experience in and a solid knowledge of International Mobility (immigration, tax, law, mobility practices for different countries) in a large, complex organisation.
  • You have an ability to grasp complex issues, apply logical thinking and to resolve operational issues, while working proactively, independently, and with a sense of ownership.
  • You have excellent proficiency in English. Knowledge of German is a plus.
  • You have strong counselling and interpersonal skills.
  • You have a great attention to detail especially when dealing with sensitive and complex matters related to tax, immigration and salaries.
