Position Overview
Partnering with all Leads to define, communicate, and execute the Vendor and Brand country strategy. Partner with Cross Functional Teams (CFT) to secure the right capacity and capability through building strong local vendor partnerships, in order to secure that Bangladesh Sourcing contributes to achieve RL Corporate goals.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Team Leadership & People Development
* Act as a role model and strong representative of RL internal and external interactions. Maintain a professional approach in all situations and lead the team and the business with a high level of respect for all.

* Recruit, train, educate, motivate, and inspire the team as required and work proactively for team development plan
* Engage in Performance Management process and make sure S-M-A-R-T method to make clear, manageable and motivating goal for Team Business Acumen
* Position Bangladesh as one of the strongest sourcing destinations globally - ensuring high competitiveness across all KPIs
* Develop a clear plan for how to execute on product development and production operations to lead the team to meet and exceed financial goals
* Perform competitive research; continuously evaluate marketplace to identify and review applicability of key trends in manufacturing, raw materials; identify significant innovations and share with partners in Sourcing, Raw Materials and Design on regular basis. Sourcing Strategy
* Drive the collaboration and secure the engagement of all cross functional teams to define the sourcing strategies for respective category.
* Identify and suggest new product opportunities; leverage competitive market intelligence to gain and maintain marketplace advantages; isolate key, relevant market trends for each category/brand
* Implement comprehensive costing framework to maximize value
* Identify needs and secure capacity to deliver on the long-term global business growth plan for Bangladesh, work closely with CAM, Quality and Global Citizenship (social compliance) to secure that the capacity is reaching RL expectations.
* Collaborate with Global expansion team to build long term capability development and product allocation plan Production
* Secure expertise in RL ‎sourcing policy and practices
* Work with CFT to maintain a clear and aligned view on preferred suppliers for specific order placements
* Strategically allocate production with best margin efficiency to meet financial goals - based on factory performance, capability and capacity evaluation.
* Standardize and align business processes working together with the regional team; ensure smooth operation and continuous improvement on efficiency in our processes
* Establish collaborative networks with the South Asia and Hong Kong teams and their leadership to build proactive and supportive communication
* Alert Country and Regional Leads/Head on high-risk areas, which may impact on RL production, brand protection and future business Vendor Partnering
* Represent Ralph Lauren's Cultural Focus Areas and be a role model in every interaction, truly partnering with our vendors
* Partner with Product Development and Technical Specialist along with our vendors partners' development teams to ensure that we meet RL design requirements
* Partner with Cross Functional Team in the onboarding of new vendors to secure the right level of support for a successful start
* Drive vendor management and development as per the global Supplier Engagement Strategy

Experience, Skills & Knowledge

* 10+ years of relevant experience preferred with US buying office or large trading business; Category: Woven, Knit, Sweater
* Graduate or Diploma in Merchandising, Textile & Design or relevant disciplines.
* Strong track record of overseeing all aspects of merchandising/sourcing team - development and production
* Strong reputation of building cross functional and vendor partnerships
* Strong reputation as a good team leader and people developer
* Merchandising/Sourcing leadership experience preferred with US / other international buying office
* Substantial knowledge of cost negotiations, product development, capacity planning, TNA management, production execution, PLM
* Good knowledge about testing protocols, garment and fabric construction, quality and product integrity
* High adaptability and flexibility to changing business environments, able to work independently
* Experience in higher end fashion brand with high quality standards
* Strong analytical skills and negotiating skills
* Strong interpersonal skills, communication skills and problem-solving skills
