Job Overview

In partnership with Macy's, Inc., Bloomingdale's is launching a curated digital marketplace and we are seeking a Specialist, Marketplace Strategy & Operations. This individual will support the launch, growth, and vision of the Marketplace splitting their efforts across 3 key pillars: Site Merchandising, Seller Acquisition, and Business Operations . Internally, this individual will work closely with Merchant, Digital, and Macy's Inc. Marketplace leadership to excite, engage and drive alignment on new business development opportunities and goals. Externally, this role support recruiting efforts to get sellers onto the platform that match our strategy. This leader will be required to frequently interact with senior leaders across the enterprise.

Reporting directly to Director, Marketplace Strategy, this Specialist will need to move swiftly across functions, prioritize tasks efficiently and effectively, and work independently to execute against goals.

This entrepreneurial role will require strong communication and analytical skills, a comfort level with uncertainty and ambiguity, and a curious and strategic mindset. This individual will directly contribute to scaling a cutting-edge business, starting from its launch.

Essential Functions

You will be the go-to individual for marketplace operations to support our strategy. You will collaborate with cross-functional partners on go-to-market activities to deliver a consistently excellent and differentiated experience to our customers. You will help to identify, build, and scale towards a pipeline of strategic marketplace sellers . You will drive seller optimization for the Bloomingdale's marketplace including but not limited to seller reporting, business reviews, monitoring KPIs, coordinating promotion & pricing decisions with the seller community, and troubleshooting issues with sellers. You will support on site merchandising efforts specific to marketplace, working closely with the site merchandising team to ensure success. You will be comfortable prioritizing and shifting focus based on the needs and structure of the business. This position may also support special projects within the broader CRG pyramid on an ad-hoc basis.

Competencies
  • Bachelor's Degree from a 4-year college or university
  • 2-4 years experience
  • Possess knowledge of, and passion for, digital and omni-channel commerce. Experience with site merchandising and an understanding of the importance of site attributes is required.
  • Excellent communication, sales, and facilitation skills (oral, written, and listening). Ability to understand, organize, and communicate complex information in an easily understandable format tailored to a variety of audiences.
  • Customer-centric mindset and experience with cross-functional collaboration.
  • Ability to solve problems with internal and external stakeholders and be a self-starter who can thrive in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
  • Ability to effectively share technical information and communicate technical issues/solutions to all levels of business.
  • Have a bias for action and act with deliberate speed.
  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Maintains confidentiality and security of sensitive company information.
