The Role

We are looking for an Infrastructure Database Engineer with a DevOps mindset obsessed with automation, scalability, performance, and infrastructure reliability to join our database team. As part of this team, you will be responsible for the database's stability, performance, and security. We maintain over 1000 VMs, divided into more than 150 clusters for SQL Server, Cassandra, and MongoDB.

What you'll do

    • Support all areas of the Cassandra database environment, ensuring all databases run at optimal performance.
    • Work closely with the development team to plan new applications and maintain current ones.
    • Perform analysis of database performance issues and develop solutions to address those concerns.
    • Owning, tracking, and resolving database-related incidents and service requests within SLAs.
    • Perform auditing, monitoring, capacity management, and security patching of our database.
    • Manage the security and disaster recovery aspects of databases and platforms.

Who you are

    • Graduated in Computer Science or another technical discipline or related practical experience
    • A professional with +5 years of experience in Cassandra database development and production support
    • Knowledgeable of Cassandra versions 3.x and 4.x in a multi-datacenter cluster and all the configurations
    • Very experienced writing and improving cql queries
    • Knowledgeable of backups, restores, compactions, repair, and hints operations
    • Knowledgeable in coding in Python and bash
    • Experienced in Troubleshooting and working in Linux
    • Experience with the following technologies will be considered a plus:SQL Server, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Azure SQL Databases; SaltStack; Windows Server 2016+Cloud Solutions (GCP/AWS/Azure); Git; Kubernetes
    • Proficient in English - written and verbal communication skills
    • Strong team player with the ability to work collaboratively and independently.
