The Team
The Tommy Hilfiger Womenswear division is one of the main business drivers within Tommy Hilfiger Europe. Based in the Amsterdam European HQ, the team is split into 4 sub teams: Design, Production, Product Development, Buying & Planning and Merchandising & Sales


These 4 teams work together in an informal setting to create superbly styled and high-end quality products for a global consumer base. Tommy Hilfiger Womenswear presents 4 collections per year (Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter).

The Position
As a Senior Technical Developer working in the Womenswear Division, you will be part of the technical team creating and executing seasonal collections for the product category “Denim”. You will work closely with the Designer Manager and designers in the team, the Product Developers and the merchandise team for the planning and development of each seasonal collection.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Must be accurate, skilled and knowledgeable within technical development of Denim.  

  • Control and maintain a consistent block library and driving any seasonal block refresh amendments across the supply base.

  • Responsible for creating and controlling sample specs from initial concept sketch to bulk production.

  • Communicate and work closely with designer and product developer to interpret sketches & styling, collection overview and achieve shared deadlines and margins.

  • Working closely with Merchandising to understand the market needs and how best to interpret and implement these requested within the collection.

  • Liaising with European and Asian vendors and PVH overseas buying offices.

  • Sample tracking and in-house sample management.

  • Handling of daily issues in end to end technical development process; including spec development, fitting, vendor support & maintaining quality standards.

  • Adhere to critical path, both internally and externally to support the development and production of the collection achieving on time for delivery at all stages of the process.

  • Cross functional partnership to ensure correct product is delivered in accordance to design, merchandising, technical and quality requirements

  • Drive fit meetings including capturing comments, changes & communicating these internally and externally.

  • Work closely with product managers & internal teams to capture, troubleshoot & resolve any product related risks during the development process.

  • Work within our PLM system to ensure data integrity.

  • Maintain tracking spreadsheets & departmental spreadsheets.

  • Analyse markets and competitors

The Ideal Candidate:

  • 7+ years of experience in technical development of denim product.

  • Higher education certificate in fashion technology/garment technology/pattern cutting

  • Business English fluency (both written and verbal)

  • An understanding of pattern making

  • Understanding of the following software is advantageous: PLM, Gerber or equivalent, 3D Software such as Browzwear /Gerber 3D. Illustrator.

  • Excellent Microsoft Office computer skills

  • Eye for silhouette, denim technical fit and construction.

  • Is able to work in a highly productive, demanding environment with a practical and proactive mentality

  • Embodies PVH values of individuality, passion, accountability, partnership & integrity

  • Must have strong organization and communication skills

  • Flexible in international travel.
