Job Overview:
The Trade Area VP is responsible for effectively strategizing and leading the execution of business priorities to achieve financial results in the primary store/trade area. The Trade Area VP is responsible for directly managing their primary store and, in addition, has General Managers in the trade area as direct reports. As a consistent role model, coach, and communicator, the Trade Area VP sets the standard for an outstanding customer shopping experience and drives the engagement of our workforce. The Trade Area VP cultivates an empowered and equipped management team, building omnichannel competency to acquire and retain long-term, high value customers. Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions:
  • Deliver performance metrics to plan in store and trade area: Sales, Net Promoter Score, Loyallist, Client Sales, Staffing and Fulfillment
  • Effectively manage controllable profit and loss, including expense and shortage
  • Capitalize on key business opportunities (trends, vendors, classifications, events) with senior team and trade area partners
  • Execute central strategies with appropriate localization for the customer
  • Develop collaborative and results-producing relationships with central business partners
  • Set clear expectations for leadership behavior and accountability for results; empower others to make decisions
  • Lead by example as an active coach, providing ongoing feedback and guidance
  • Effectively communicate priorities and business-driving information to ensure leadership is aligned and equipped to maximize opportunities
  • Cultivate a customer centric store and trade area culture; be a vocal advocate for needed improvements to support the in-store customer experience
  • Require and champion use of selling technology to support a seamless customer experience; ensure the team optimizes the use of tool and processes
  • Drive store associate engagement by building teams committed to a diverse and inclusive environment, supporting a culture of learning and development, and providing consistent and feedback that drives employee engagement and retention
  • Create a strategic succession plan that accelerates and develops talent
  • Regular, dependable attendance & punctuality

Qualifications and Competencies:
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • 10-15+ years of Store Leadership/ retail business unit experience preferred.
  • Practices open and continuous communication, values keeping others informed, effectively presenting information in a clear, concise manner
  • Excellent leadership, facilitation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across functional lines and at many levels
  • Ability to think creatively, strategically and technically
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and Company needs
