Head Patternmaker & Atelier

Acne Studios is recruiting a head patternmaker, who will function as a main point of contact for designated product groups and ensure timely and efficient coordination of patterns. This is a role where you will act as a technical resource, share expertise and get the opportunity to develop close partnership, while actively contribute to the creative process of high-end quality collections in a progressive fashion house.

The role

This is a role that entails manage atelier set up, including show preparations, as well as lead, motivate and develop the team. You will create high quality patterns with a perfect fit which can be delivered to in-house atelier or Acne Studios suppliers. As a head patternmaker you will analyze the collection calendar and balance requests towards internal team, consultants and external suppliers. You will also lead development of fit standards and consistency as well as manange pre-production processes in collaboration with other head patternmakers. You will report to head of pattern and atelier and belong to the product and design department.

You

We are looking for someone with an academic degree from fashion school and/or textile education with at least 7 years experience as creative patternmaker with experience of leading a team. This role requires strong technical expertise and knowledge of production techniques and experience in working with CAD in Gerber/Lectra, or a similar system. To manage this role, we see that you are organized and able to efficiently manage multiple project deadlines as well as detail-oriented with strong follow-through. Further, you have high aspirations and understand the importance of excellence. You act with integrity at all times and have a natural ability to influence and build trust. You value simplicity over complexity and are guided by impact rather than prestige. You are pragmatic and hands-on and get things done. You thrive in a fast-paced environment where flexibility and teamwork are highly valued. And ideally, you enjoy working in a creative international environment with a wide range of personalities.

Acne Studios is a global company with English as working language. Fluency in written and oral English is therefore a must. You will be based in our design studio in Paris. Regular business travel will occur.
