DESIGN AREA - Men's Prints & Graphics
London, UK
FTC - 6 months, to start asap
JOB PURPOSE
The Men's Prints & Graphics Designer is responsible for creating animations, prints, graphics and visuals with a strong fashion direction using Burberry's iconic heritage and attitude as a foundation, along with the wider Prints & Graphics Design team. Mixing prints & graphics design knowledge, with great fashion & luxury awareness. They must be able to imagine and adapt visuals to cutting-edge fashion, understand the standard of luxury ready-to-wear. They also must be an organised, reliable individual, capable of independently lead small capsules of work creatively, but also technically with suppliers, and resolving any problems that occur.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Design and develop Men's prints & graphics that fill the brief and are fit for purpose, highly original and in the creative domain of Riccardo Tisci. Push concepts to their limits to continue establish the visual signature of Burberry.
Research, design and develop new concepts for a collection.
Follow creative direction and actively propose artworks and concepts.
Gather research, create mood boards, generate ideas, artworks and launch artworks.
Have a great understanding of luxury fashion & streetwear.
Work collaboratively with cross functional teams.
Follow the technical part of the product with product & fabric development teams, criticize and review samples & swatches.
Work as part of a strong, dynamic design team to be market leaders.
Create prints & graphics and intricate placed artworks using a range of techniques & computer programs. Support Prints & Graphics team members as a team to ensure that the overall "design concept" is achieved.
PERSONAL PROFILE
Strong concept, research and creative skills.
Great image making skills, and good adaptability to a variety of different styles. Must show in portfolio.
Exceptional Illustrator & Photoshop Skills.
Knowledge of design, development and implementation.
Passion for fashion and product knowledge
Knowledge of the luxury & streetwear consumer. Commercial awareness.
Can operate at pace and with a sense of urgency.
Ability to communicate with functional experts in Design, Fabric, and Product Development. Strong communication and influencing skills.
Attention to detail.
Great organisational skills.
7 plus years' experience within the industry preferable.
