PVH Merchandising is responsible for the budgeting, product trading and supply chain strategy for the Region North business. In a constantly changing retail environment, they look to drive the optimum assortment for each retail location, based upon: customer profile, sales targets and regional retail landscape.

Working closely with all key retail stakeholders (buying, retail operations, visual merchandising and store teams) collaboration, strong communication and a passion for opportunity and success are the foundations for this team!

The Junior Merchandiser plays a key role in supporting the Merchandising team to maximise commercial opportunities for Tommy Hilfiger and Calvin Klein brands. The Junior Merchandiser will be responsible for their own divisions within one of our brands.

Reporting into the Merchandiser or Senior Merchandiser they will be expected to drive sales and profit through effective inventory management and in season trading for their divisions, whilst supporting the wider team strategy.

Responsibilities include:

Best In Class Merchandising:
  • Take full ownership of the in-season trading of your management area and own and develop the trading strategy ensuring the brands DNA and customer are in mind
  • Take full ownership of all store in-season trading management
  • Propose and sign off store planning yearly budget targets, ensuring they are in line with overall company vision
  • Space planning and capacity management, own initial density targets and review in-season to optimize space and maximize profit densities
  • Pre-season and in-season WSSI management regarding, sales, profit, stocks, markdown (MD), and Open to Buy (OTB) and commitment levels. Presenting WSSI to Merchandising Director in monthly sign off
  • Create, develop and sign off in-season and end-season terminal stock management and sale strategy
  • Ensure all stores have the optimum level of stocks for any sale, promotional or event activities
  • Contribute to and manage the trading calendar
  • Present to Senior Leadership team in trade and strategy meetings
  • Responsible for stock and option management for new store openings, refits and store closures
  • Pro-actively drive trading decisions on weekly, monthly and seasonally basis with focus on optimising margin
  • Undertake store visits and work with key stores to support their performance and assess your department against your competition

  • Regular communication with peers across the region to align on best practices
  • Partner with Junior Planner and Junior Buyer to ensure there is a clear end to end strategy
  • Influence planning and buying decisions by sharing in-season trading analysis, ensuring grading, product mixes and size curves are correct for your management area
  • Develop strong relationships across Buying and Merchandising, Operations, Supply, Stores and Amsterdam teams
  • Build strong commercial relationships with any external partnerships
  • Ensure smooth planning and trading of any special buys or campaigns
  • Work closely with Profit Protection team to have a positive impact on margin erosion
  • Work closely with Retail Operations team to help drive Omni-channel best practice
  • Work with the Amsterdam divisions to exploit their capability and ensure ways of working are established in line with the business model.

High Performing Team
  • Manage, train and guide the Assistant Merchandiser and Merchandise Admin Assistant effectively deliver all best in class merchandising practices
  • Ensure best practice is maintained at all times
  • Manage allocation, replenishment, transfers and Never Out of Stock (NOS) management plans
  • Coach, develop and nurture future talent by always upholding the best in class merchandising values
  • Oversee and train the Assistant Merchandiser on forecasting, WSSI and terminal stock management

Systems & AI
  • Full understanding of all internal systems and processes
  • Implement and exploit new systems and processes to continually improve merchandising ways of working
  • Understand and champion any new AI tools
