Summary

Reporting to the Office Manager, this is an exciting and new role to the business. The role will work across all teams, and lead on implementing and driving our sustainability strategy.

Garrard have been doing an incredible amount of work over the past few years to make the

company more sustainable, with a real focus on lowering our carbon footprint, and making

our business greener.

The role will work to ensure Garrard is up to date with sustainability policies and

procedures, monitoring and tracking our progress and developing new ideas for the

business. This role will also focus on seeing the business through relevant sustainability

centred audits and accreditations including B Corp certification.

This is a great opportunity for someone who can work autonomously and communicate

across different teams. The right candidate will be forward thinking, driven, and ready to

input fresh ideas into the business.

 

 

           You Will

 

  • Have sustainability experience and an understanding of sustainability topics Have a keen interest in fine jewellery Have experience or understanding of supply chains Have a desire to be part of a busy team, with a very hands-on approach Be able to confidently liaise with senior management Be forward thinking Ideally have a degree or equivalent in sustainability related subject, or business.

Responsibilities

 

  • Ensure that sustainable measures and policies are adhered to and updated, maintaining Garrard’s sustainability commitments and standards. Manage and oversee the progression towards sustainability targets Assist in the development and management of packaging design and production, ensuring both sustainability targets and business needs are met Assist with audits and re-assessments with sustainable certification agencies that Garrard are or wish to become a member of Be innovative on other platforms/ certifications Garrard could work with Onboarding of new suppliers and continued auditing of existing suppliers to ensure all meet our sustainability requirements Support the marketing team on corporate messaging around sustainability Work across every team to create and implement sustainability strategy Responsible for the Internal communications on sustainability Keep up to date with industry best practice and changes in legislation, responsible for influencing and implementing necessary changes.

Essential Skills

 

  • Experience in third party sustainability standards and certification relevant to our industry Experience in B-corp certification process Strong understanding of the external political and legislative landscape Experience or knowledge of supply chains with a strong focus on sustainability Team-oriented and able to work flexibly across different departments A logical thinker who is precise and has excellent attention to detail Good organisational skills and time management Proficient IT in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel Good spoken and written English.
