This position is for a Staff Engineer, Data Protection & Privacy, Customer Accounts who will help us design, develop and execute on omni channel digital solutions to support customers across online and store experiences. We are building a globally deployed digital platform for our customers and store associates using some best-in-class, frameworks, platforms / technologies such as AWS, Serverless computing, NodeJS, Typescript, ReactJS, JavaScript, Java, Spring Boot and leverage several cloud native services and solutions. The Staff Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the team follows secure coding practices, leverages security features, controls, and capabilities of the organization's cloud environment, and stays focused on data protection for customer accounts.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Partner with the security and compliance organizations to make recommendations on technology and controls to achieve a higher maturity level within the organization
  • Design, build and maintain security controls within the organization's cloud environments running on AWS
  • Partner with the security operations staff to assist with incident response
  • Provide guidance on secure coding practices, data security and privacy.
  • Work as a full-stack engineer building micro frontends in React and micro services using TypeScript.
  • Contribute to design discussions and provide researched opinion on industry standards/best practices.
  • Take ownership of key components in the digital platform, right from inception to post-production.
  • Collaborate with other developers, architects, product & project managers, etc. in a cross functional team.

Essential Abilities, Skills And Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Information Technology, Information Systems Management, Computer Science, or related field(s)
  • 5 years of experience in the areas of Information Technology or Information Security 3+ years of experience working with distributed teams.
  • Deep knowledge of Cloud Security Tools and Standards is a must
  • CISSP and AWS certification is a huge plus
  • Must have hands-on experience in developing websites with some of the technologies like - Java, Spring boot, NodeJS with JavaScript/Typescript, ReactJS and Elasticsearch (or SOLR, Lucene search engine); Experience developing apps with React Native, iOS, Android is a plus
  • Experience with AWS Serverless Cloud native services with Lambda functions, SNS, SQS, DynamoDB, API Gateway
  • Experience with Identity frameworks like Amazon Cognito, Okta, Auth0 or any OAuth2 / Open ID Connect frameworks
  • Strong knowledge of Caching frameworks, data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and distributed systems fundamentals.
  • Strong understanding of databases, NoSQL data stores, storage, and distributed persistence technologies
  • Strong communications and presentation skills.
  • Passionate about enabling next generation experiences.
