This Role is Tailor-Made for You Because:
We're looking for thoughtful Sr. Engineer with an eye and passion for quality to join our digital engineering team. We are an agile-minded team, nimble enough to move quickly and innovate faster than our larger competitors, and mature enough to outperform start-ups. We are building massively scalable solutions at an enterprise level.
As a Sr. Engineer you'll join a Scrum team building the integration and data modelling layer to support the various data initiatives. You'll work closely with other Engineers and Product Managers to understand user stories and help build a robust scalable data eco system.
The ideal candidate for this position would be a passionate pioneer in technology, a solutions builder, a roll-up-your-sleeves technologist who wants a daily collaborative environment, think-tank feel and shares new ideas with his/her colleagues.

A Day in the Life:
  • Working in tandem with multiple groups to strategize and prioritize next generation product initiatives, develop processes and solutions, and drive projects to completion
  • Working in a collaborative, agile environment using the latest in engineering best practices with involvement in all aspects of the software development lifecycle
  • Designing & developing curated data products, applying standard architectural practices
  • Gathering and understanding data requirements, building complex data pipelines, and working to achieve high quality data ingestion goals
  • Developing and maintaining MS SQL database best practices, continuously evolving to meet the needs of the business while ensuring data is secure and scalable
  • Ensuring Retail roadmap objectives are met by gathering requirements through collaboration with SQL Upstream/Downstream system teams and stakeholders and actioning against them in accordance with timeline
  • Architecting and modeling data structures to fulfill the technical needs of our business vision.
  • Utilizing SSIS/Informatica to construct enterprise-level ETL procedures
  • Ensuring designs include strategic analytical metrics for enhanced decision-making.
  • Building ETL processes and the creation of applications that can connect to remote APIs
  • Facilitating problem diagnosis and resolution in relevant areas
  • Designing and creating of data led strategies which provide businesses with opportunities to leverage their data for greater insight or performance
  • Proactively suggesting, planning, and integrating new tools and methods to improve productivity, efficiency and reduce costs.


To Land This Role:
  • Bachelors or Master's degree in computer science, software engineering, mathematics or IT or relevant work experience
  • 2-4 years of experience as a data warehouse engineer/architect designing and deploying data systems in platforms with demonstrated strength in MS SQL Server 2008-2017 solutions
  • 2+ years of experience with an ETL tool such as SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) or Informatica.
  • 2+ years of experience modeling transactional systems.
  • Expertise in performance tuning techniques such as indexing and analyzing query execution plans.
  • Mastery of database and data warehouse methodologies and techniques from transactional databases to dimensional data modeling, to wide deformalized data marts
  • Google Big Query experience is a plus
  • SAP ERP and Datawarehouse experience preferred.
  • Good Understanding of front-end reporting tools like Tableau & MicroStrategy
