RESPONSIBILITIES

The Finance Manager will be responsible for supporting STP projects and the agenda of the GPO and operational delivery teams. The role requires strong leadership and knowledge, delivering end to end services and transformation across all projects and processes. The holder of the post should strive for delivering efficiency and effectiveness across all areas in the STP process tower, to optimise process efficiency and customer service. This will include:

  • Managing a portfolio of projects, establishing and maintaining the appropriate delivery environment and management support mechanisms
  • Ensuring benefits realisation, risk management and quality assurance across assigned projects
  • Monitoring and prioritising Continuous Improvement (CI) opportunities with focus on growth areas
  • Leading on Process Excellence delivery across core processes
  • Mentoring and coaching the operational teams


Service Delivery

• Identifying project opportunities and initiating value add projects in line with Burberry's and BBS' strategy, as agreed with the Global Process Owner
• Applying standard methodologies and tools to manage the projects portfolio and driving consistent project management approach across STP
• Providing project updates and other related content to relevant governance forums
• Championing change management activity for the portfolio of projects, working with relevant stakeholders to embed new ways of working
• Role may require work on weekends/public holidays at half year and year end
• Role may require some travel

PERSONAL PROFILE

• Professional accounting qualification is preferred e.g. ACA, CA, ACCA, CIMA or CPA, however appropriate finance process knowledge would be considered
• Strong Source to Pay process knowledge
• SAP experience is desired. Advanced Excel skills, an advantage
• Experience working in a shared services environment is key
• Experience of leading multi-work stream and change management projects preferred. Must be able to fully grasp the broader issues and provide functional guidance to others
• Has track record and appetite for delivering continuous improvement. Can provide examples of having led local changes as a means of reflecting strategic-level changes
• Has built strong and sustainable relationships with a range of external stakeholders and influenced them effectively. Can provide evidence of working collaboratively with peers
• Strong compliance background
• Can provide examples of using data to support decision making

Skills

• Uses a variety of techniques to influence a range of internal and external, technical and non-technical stakeholders across a range of strategic-level issues. Able to establish personal credibility at all levels. Has strong negotiation skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills especially stakeholder management
• Builds effective relationships through interpersonal skill and technical expertise to aid cross-functional working, delivery and a sense of collaboration and teamwork. Proactively asks for and acts on personal feedback, developing a high level of self-awareness
• Can operate both at the strategic and detailed level. Displays an affinity for technology's ability to drive efficiencies and enhance service delivery. Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple priorities and operational demands
• Thinks conceptually and identifies and addresses future challenges and opportunities, often in an ambiguous environment
• Needs to be comfortable dealing with data - i.e. able to extract strategic themes and trends, compare and convert data across the group and use high-level figures to make decisions
• Able to perform root cause analysis using data and/or subject matter experts
• Processing mapping skills to support understanding of and document changes to STP processes
