Primary Purpose: The Operations Manager will play a key role in launching a new 3 shift/7 day a week fulfillment center in North Las Vegas. The Manager will partner with leadership to support the facility start-up, ensuring business processes are functioning correctly to kick start operations. Key initiatives will be centered around setting goals for the work group, developing organizational capability and modeling a safe workplace.

Regularly, the Manager will lead a talented team of supervisors and distribution associates while ensuring the success of facility operations through workplace safety, maintaining/improving customer service levels and driving productivity through leadership and continuous improvement activities. Additionally, people managers have a significant focus on developing direct reports, cultivating engagement, providing essential tools and resources, and encouraging effective coaching.

  • Collaborate with the VP of Fulfillment and Logistics, facility leaders, and business partners
  • Research/recommend new procedures or technologies to improve service levels
  • Resolve conflict, solve problems, make decisions, and team building skills
  • Assess staffing needs and requirements and meet or exceed performance standards
  • Manage trends and business changes, while building flexibility within the teams
  • Create a safe and positive work environment for all employees
  • Develop strategies for meeting future facility and business goals/objectives
  • Meet customer order demands, inventory accuracy, and cycle count requirements
  • Report performance against weekly and monthly goals
  • Oversee tactical planning with Supervisors and Support Groups through problem solving and decision-making processes
  • Manage projects while maintaining daily operations
  • Lead direct reports and drive performance through development
  • Hire and develop first level supervisors to create succession plan for the facility
  • Partner with staffing agency on the performance of a varying number of seasonal temps
  • Lift up to 50 pounds frequently
  • Stand and walk for up to 12 hours during shifts
  • Work in an environment with varied noise levels and temperatures

The accomplished individual will possess...
  • High School diploma or equivalent; degree preferred
  • Minimum of 4 years' experience in a supervisory/management level position in a warehouse/distribution center environment
  • Ability to manage and direct team functions without direct supervision
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proven ability to work and communicate with all levels of the organization
  • Required to be computer literate with a working knowledge of Word and Excel
  • A proven success record in supervising, training, coaching/motivating, problem solving and developing team members through servant leadership
  • Minimum 1 year experience managing budgets
  • Minimum 1 year experience working with WMS

  • A Bachelors or Masters degree in Operations, Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Engineering, or related field
  • More than 5 years' experience in a leadership position in a warehouse/distribution, machinery, aerospace, cosmetics, medical, production environments
  • Experience in process improvement, Six Sigma, Lean, Kaizen
  • Encourage collaboration across the team and business unit
  • Customer service orientation
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to analyze data, form conclusions, and develop actionable recommendations in a timely manner
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate and lead team members
  • Adjust to competing and shifting priorities
  • 2 years' experience in automated warehouses
  • 3 years' experience in e-commerce/omnichannel experience
  • 3 years' experience managing budgets
  • 3 years' experience with WMS/WES
