THE ROLE & THE TEAM
The Connected Network department is responsible for all partner-facing Zalando Logistics Solutions. By uniting these services under a single umbrella, we provide a more holistic approach to deliver the optimal fulfilment solution to meet our partners' needs, and leverage common services to enable partner program growth.

Over the last years, we learned that solving fulfilment-related challenges for the good of our partners helps us to fuel the growth of our platform. Strengthened by this successful growth, we have started the next step in our journey - expanding our business outside of the Zalando ecosystem, exploring both physical and digital services.

This endeavour will require us to increase our focus on the partner experience even further, and build up a dedicated Connected Network Product Design team. As the Head of Product Design, a new role in Connected Network,you would lead a team of product designers and researchers, develop a strategy and vision to deliver on the promise of a smooth and unified partner and customer experience across all product offerings and channels within Connected Network.

WHAT WE'D LOVE YOU TO DO
  • Establish a Connected Network design and research team, consisting of a mix of existing resources and (over time) new hires.
  • Develop a vision and strategy for design across Connected Network (comprised of Fulfillment, Returns and Shipping B2B solutions), as well as design principles to set us up for success
  • Define a way of working together with product and commercial teams, and increase Connected Networks overall design maturity
  • Be deeply involved in building our future partner and customer experience
  • Lead, coach and grow designers and researchers in their design careers
  • Establish a design library for Connected Network
  • Bring best practices and industry experience, new ideas and ways of working to continually evolve how we do design within Connected Network
  • Lead cross functional design sessions and coach others on how to leverage user centric design principle sto deliver exceptional customer and partner experiences
WE'D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF
  • Experience: You are a seasoned design professional with both B2B and B2C experience and have lead teams before. You are inspired to dive deep and solve meaningful problems that make partners and customers feel like we understand them. To land this job you will show and explain artefacts from your work defining product design strategy, executing tactically in a complex environment and leading people to perform at their best.
  • Empathy: You have the mindset and methodologies to understand your partners, customers, colleagues and employees.
  • Craft: You understand service design, choreograph UX design processes and orchestrate unified experiences throughout the partner and customer journey - while knowing how to embody specific solutions in usable and delightful interactions.
  • Experimentation: You have a generative approach, strive to solve problems in the best way possible through iteration, leveraging data and insights to drive future iterations and features.
  • Storytelling: You bring not just users but also stakeholders and employees on a journey, enabling them to truly understand the end customer and vision and experience you are setting out to deliver.
