Do you have experience in an IT support role and do you feel comfortable working in a dynamic (retail) environment? Do you have strong communication skills and are you passionate about delivering the best service to help all your colleagues? We are looking for a US-based, all-round IT Support Engineer to act as the 1st line of contact for our US and Canada based operations. You will be a part of the Global IT team based in the Netherlands.

We are looking for a proactive person to support our end user and store staff who is capable of solving 90% of the problems without escalation. We are looking for someone who has knowledge of relevant technologies and perfectly understands the needs of our store and office personnel.

Job responsibilities:

  • Provide support to and communicate with the local US & Canadian teams as well as the Global IT team based in the Netherlands;
  • Act as the first point of escalation on identified issues and resolutions during office/store opening hours;
  • Resolve day-to-day issues with regard to hardware, network, and software in the Scotch & Soda offices and stores;
  • Remotely guide and manage 3 rd party support teams throughout the US & Canada;
  • Install, configure, and maintain laptops and other IT equipment on-site and remotely;
  • For incidents you are not able to solve yourself, gather all relevant information prior to escalating to the global IT team in the Netherlands;
  • Actively take part in the Global IT team and point out recurring problems, trends, and improvement suggestions;
  • Work on global Scotch & Soda IT tasks when possible or needed outside of regional office hours ("Follow the Sun” support model);


Our ideal candidate

  • Self starter and motivated
  • College graduate in IT or similar education
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of work experience in a similar IT role
  • The ability to multi-task and set priorities in a dynamic and fast environment

Technical knowledge required:
  • Microsoft Windows Operating system
  • Apple Mac Operating System
  • Microsoft Office 365 suite
  • Basic network knowledge (Nice to have: CCNA certification)
  • Experience with Point of Sale systems & Store automation
