Performing Raw material & product laboratory tests as per Burberry requirements & supporting chemical compliance & water conservation initiatives for Internal Manufacturing.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Testing physical and colour performance parameters of raw materials and products
• Interpreting test data, troubleshooting and making recommendations as needed to elevate quality
• Performs all testing, following the relevant company SOP's and methods. Validate performance on methods against applicable standards (BS, ISO, ASTM, etc.) and Burberry-specific protocols.
• Develop, write, review, perform and validate test methods, laboratory SOPs, and other department level operating and quality documents.
• Own, deliver and share YTD and monthly KPI's and performance against them.
• Ensure equipment is maintained, calibrated and serviced as per specifications
• Perform daily, weekly, and monthly Quality & maintenance proactive checks on equipment.
• Liaise with External & Internal partners & Ensure stakeholders receive prompt and accurate test data.
• Receive, sort, log samples into the database, and prepare sample labels
• Archive, return, or dispose of samples as per the established procedure.
• Assist in keeping inventory of laboratory chemicals and equipment necessary for the day to day functioning of the laboratory and in compiling a list of supplies to be ordered when needed.
• Chemical compliance management, water conservation & Sustainability projects support for Internal manufacturing.
• Required to travel to IM sites and occasionally to suppliers for audits and support.
• Suppliers liaison, reporting for the Chemical compliance, Water conservation & sustainability projects.

Personal profile
  • Textile Engineering degree in materials, colour, and/or chemicals or Equivalent education /or experience in managing reputable Textile lab.
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Office
  • High level of literacy, numeracy and data analysis skills
  • Working experience in textile testing laboratory is mandatory.
  • Knowledge of fibres, yarns, fabrics and textile production & dyeing techniques.
  • Management skills/experience will be preferred.
  • Highly Motivated & Self initiator
  • Able to prioritise and manage own workload.
  • Excellent communication skills
