Department Description:

Tommy Hilfiger Menswear is a fashion-forward lifestyle collection within the Tommy Hilfiger family, which has a focus on premium Sportswear for Men. The designs are inspired by American classics, finished with a modern edge and fresh spirit.

Position Description and responsibilities:
  • The Senior Merchandising Director will report in to and partner with the TH World of Men's ( WOM ) Lifestyle's SVP of Merchandising
  • Hold a strategic leadership role within the WOM team, with specific Merchandising ownership across all three key pillars of WOM's Apparel: Sportswear / Tailored & Dress Casual / Hilfiger Sport, and CTB.
  • Partner with SVP and Sr Director Marketplace Merchandising in delivering brand-right, consumer-centric seasonal assortments.
  • Develop and align the short and long-term WOM Apparel growth strategies with the overall TH Brand WOM Lifestyle vision
  • Partner closely with Footwear and Accessories counterparts in ensuring a synergistic ' consumer centric ' approach to product when producing seasonal collections
  • Partner with the Consumer Insights teams in analyzing updated Apparel data points to further enhance and continuously modernize the WOM Aspirational Consumer Profile
  • Refine bottoms-up WOM Apparel architecture and framework for the collection - across all Product Groups - as per seasonal Range Plans developed by the Sr Director Marketplace Merchandising, and that correspond to the long-term business objectives and KPI targets
  • Partner with key stakeholders and cross-functional partners in building commercially strong collections, while ensuring margin targets, price point architecture, Hero styles, volume drivers, etc., are all successfully executed
  • Lead the facilitation and development of optimal relationships between Merchandising, Design, PD both in and out of key seasonal milestone meetings
  • Oversee the creation of all seasonal Digital Asset management and Market Launch toolkits
  • Partner with (and drive) the Retail and ECOM teams in delivering optimal 'consumer centric' assortments that meet all Retail strategic needs, hit all financial targets, and accelerate the O&O business
  • Lead and drive all key milestone meetings (Range Plan Hand-Off (to Triad), Digital Collection Review, Omnichannel Validation Meeting, etc.) and present / discuss the collection, review Product Stories, and provide product feedback to cover Market needs
  • Participate in cross-divisional projects related to strategic impact and provide inputs for key presentations
  • Manage, mentor, and develop a team of 12+ junior to senior level Merchants


Requirements:
  • 10+ years in a Global, Senior Merchandising role with credible menswear experience
  • Visionary; proven ability to strategically lead a large-scale business towards continuous growth while, at times, navigating through unchartered territory
  • Strong discernment to quickly identify new business opportunities; ability to convert into clear, actionable business strategy
  • Strategic risk-taker
  • Omni-channel experience
  • Analytical mind-set; in-depth proficiency of all Financials and KPI levers associated with leading a high-volume business
  • Proven history in developing assortment frameworks and building annual/seasonal Range Plan architectures from the ground-up
  • An effective communicator who possesses a deep understanding of consumer preferences across key markets, emphasizes accountability in decisions, promotes continuous improvement and motivation via proven strong leadership, possesses high energy/urgency, and creative problem solving.
  • Understanding of multiple Markets, regions, cultural and consumer differences and the requirements to deliver against financial results and customer-centric KPIs.
  • Strong networker; proven history in forming effective working relationships with all key cross-functional departments (Merchandising, Design, Production, and Markets/Country Partners)
  • Previous experience leading and managing a large team with demonstrated ability to coach and develop future leaders (minimum size team of 10 - 15, including 3 Directors)
  • Understanding of the end-to-end seasonal process and experience with managing (and providing input) into the annual/seasonal corporate calendar and associated work-stream
  • Strong organizational, communication, and presentation skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and diverse environment
  • Experience in Retail, Wholesale, and Online environments is preferred
  • Knowledge and skills in working with Corporate Systems (i.e. PLM, Consumer Insights) and in MS Office software (Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Verbal and Written Proficiency in English is required
