PVH Buying is responsible for the selection, range building and product strategy for the Region North business. In a constantly changing retail environment we look to build the best assortment for each retail location, based upon: customer profile, sales targets and regional retail landscape.

Working closely and collaborating with all key retail stakeholders (Planning, Retail Operations, Visual Merchandising and Store teams), ensuring strong communication and a passion for opportunity and success are the foundations for this team.

Reporting into the Buyer / Buyer you'll play a key role in supporting and driving the buying strategy for the channel's commercial direction (Full Price, Outlet, Concession, and E-commerce).

Collaborating with the Planning Team, you'll be responsible for building the Tommy Hilfiger and Calvin Klein brands commercial product assortment to meet our customers' requirements and deliver a market leading range.

Responsibilities include:

Planning, Strategy & Market
  • To help deliver pre-season actions that maximise sales and profit opportunities (whilst partnering in the trading and opportunities that occur in-season)
  • Manage the process of taking product from strategy, planning, development and selection to stores - meeting our store and customer requirements
  • Identify department trends based on past and present results, customer and store feedback and industry trends, using this data to drive current and future season sales
  • Provide input into price point strategy for ranges
  • Work with the Buyer / Planner to formulate a detailed (range) plan on the products to be offered by season/phase
  • Manage Open to Buy (OTB) alongside the Buyer and Planning team recommending rebuys/new opportunities
  • Align seasonal assortment with financial plans, visual merchandising and assortment guidelines
  • Ensure the Buying Admin Assistant enters all orders ahead of deadlines and that all relevant checks / summaries take place
  • Ensure all cancellations/sell-outs are replaced (and reviewed) in good time
  • Support the Buyer in any preparation for seasonal buy reviews (including buy strategy, product pushes/key investments and seasonal trends)
  • With the buyer, conduct seasonal hindsight meetings with key stakeholders for lessons learnt / opportunities
  • Collaborate with key stake holders on product strategy, selection and alignment (Wholesale and EU Buying Teams)

In-Season Management
  • Attend and contribute to the Monday morning buying meeting. Reviewing the previous week's sales, best and worst sellers for the buying department. Constantly considering opportunities for improvement and development
  • Work with the Buying Admin Assistants to make sure the Buy Bibles are prepared before SKO's
  • Ensure timely delivery of new season product into stores and concessions (in line with Tommy Hilfiger installation and/or Retail Calendar dates)
  • Oversee orderbook management with the Buying Admin Assistants and Merchandising team
  • Collaborate on replenishment / re-order process, making sure of timely execution
  • Review weekly performance (down to style level) against planned/forecasted sales
  • Provide information to Sales / Visual Merchandising teams to allow them to provide layout plans to stores
  • Liaise with PR, Marketing, Visual Merchandising and Retail Operations teams to ensure that sales are maximised, and the department reaches its full potential
  • Manage critical path from strategy to store delivery for each season
  • Regular visits to stores / concessions - proposing opportunities and reasoning for relevant visits with line manager
  • Conduct regular market visits, to understand trends, promotional activity and other initiatives by our competitors
  • Responsible for the development of Buying Admin Assistants whilst displaying the PVH values

About YOU
  • You're an experienced Assistant Buyer
  • You have previous experience of formulating and delivering a detailed plan for taking products from strategy/best buy to sales floor
  • You have owned the development, sign-off and delivery of a product plan
  • You're commercially astute and a confident decision maker, communicating with impact across all levels and Make Informed Decisions
  • You work well with change, being able to Adapt Fast and work with pace
  • You have strong stakeholder management skills, you Collaborate to Win with the ability to build relationships with ease
  • You Connect to Consumers and have in-depth knowledge of the current competitive market place
  • You have strong analytical skills, including knowledge of retail maths and confident with Excel
  • You're skilled in presenting
  • You're highly organised and demonstrate the ability to prioritise and multitask
  • You Inspire Trust and Cultivate Belonging by managing and developing more junior members of team
