Job Details

The Dion Lee Raw Materials Manager follows raw material and trim development through sourcing and production delivery. Ensuring high standards and meticulous reporting to vendors and production team. Reporting to the Production Director.

RESEARCH, DESIGN & DEVELOPMENT

  • Source trend, aspirational and affordable materials across all product categories including and not limited to woven, leather and trim Drive sustainable and eco options in all categories Co-ordinate worldwide material and trim sourcing efforts Kick off the seasonal design calendar with newness and offerings in all fabric groups Actively launch and design new materials and counter source as needed Ensure final fabric assortment meets margin considerations Co-ordinate delivery of proto and sampling meters Launch all lab dips and main color standards through development Ensure all fabrics and counter resourcing is managed strictly within the development window  Approve all bulk materials and trim into production within 24hrs of receipt

PRODUCTION

  • Direct the compilation and review of all woven, leather and trim data sheets (FDS) for accuracy, quality, affordability and compliance prior to production Work with 3rd party testing agency
  • Planning of raw material and trim procurement pre-purchasing against production planning and managing greige commitments Procuring including and not limited to woven, leather and trims Negotiation of raw material and trim costs, to ensure the best market value Negotiate payment terms on all purchasing
  • Daily communication between mills and factories on ordering and delivery schedules of all materials and trims. Maintain XFCTY against PO in Zedonk Confidence in various international shipping methods, plan ahead to ensure fastest and most cost-effective shipping methods Maintains fabric liabilities in Zedonk seasonally Approve all bulk materials and trim into production within 24hrs of receipt Maintains records and swatches of all bulk approvals for each quality and color

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • BS/BA/BFA degree
  • Minimum of 5 years in textile sourcing and development or production purchasing
  • Strong collaborative, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Negotiation skills
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment and extend working hours when needed
  • Able to establish high standards in the procurement process
