Senior Designer

SAKS POTTS is looking for a talented Senior Designer to oversee the Design Team, functioning as the right hand to the Founder and Creative Director Barbara Potts.

Founded in 2014 in Copenhagen by Cathrine Saks and Barbara Potts. SAKS POTTS is a personal reflection of Barbara and Cathrine’s life and growing up in Copenhagen together inspired and established the importance of the Copenhagen roots and lifestyle for Saks Potts. Copenhagen is famous for its unique culture life, design and food scene which is an enormous source of inspiration for the designers. Barbara, Cathrine and the whole team live and work in different areas of Copenhagen and share an equal love to the city. Copenhagen is the setting and the scene for most things related to the brand, and Barbara and Cathrine find a lot of inspiration in their daily life in the Danish capital city, in which the SAKS POTTS HQ is located.

SAKS POTTS’ collections consist of 4 annual drops, focused on continuously building on the perfect closet and Barbara’s and Cathrine’s creative vision and unique eye for  interpreting Danish culture  and sense of practical details, into beautiful garments that easily transcend from day to night. Collections are not build on trend, but are long lasting pieces build on the duos unique creative vision. Making all pieces long lasting and small treasures in every closet. SAKS POTTS is on an exciting growth journey and as Senior Designer you will together with the founders and the team play a pivotal role in developing SAKS POTTS future direction and form the design team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

A key responsibility as SENIOR Designer will be to refine and establish a strong and scalable design process, closely collaborating with cross functional teams.

Oversee the development of the collection and making sure collections are developed according to the strategic plan and vision. You as Senior Designer will play a key role in defining the creative vision with our Creative Director.

Support the SAKS POTTS vision and staying abreast of external trends and constantly seeking creative inspiration, hence travels are expected 4-6 times per year.

Develop pre and main collections along with seasonal capsules.

Forming the team and have management responsibility to grow and develop more junior members of the design team, including but not limited to graduates and interns.

Research, design and develop new concepts for upcoming collections.

Develop and implement SAKS POTTS design signature details.

Participate in the fittings.

Overall responsible for the development of all prototypes and samples.

Responsible for providing detailed instructions on finishing and construction for all ready-to-wear styles prior to the launch of Salesman Samples (SMS).

Participate in fashion shows and preparing 2 times per year during Copenhagen Fashion Week.

ABOUT YOU

• Entrepreneurial mindset
• +5-10 years from similar senior positions
• Expert in Adobe creative suite – especially Indesign and Illustrator and familiar with CLO3D
• Have a strong taste level with an eye for detail
• Highly organized
• Understand and embrace Saks Potts’ culture and values
• Ability to mentor and motivate a team – positive can do attitude and a great communicator
• Strong time management skills with excellent ability to efficiently prioritize and delegate
• Fluent in English
