About the Role

Do you have a passion for brand-led storytelling and an ability to craft compelling, cohesive narratives across multiple platforms? Banana Republic is looking for a Senior Manager, Editorial, to strategically develop our brand's storytelling. This role will play a critical role in translating Banana Republic's brand vision into compelling content, with areas of focus including organic social and paid media, as well as for special editorial projects including our online hub, "The Journal." In addition, as a key member of the editorial team, the Senior Manager contributes to all of the core editorial functions of the brand, encompassing a diverse range of copy outlets. The right candidate for this role brings a combination of art and science to craft of writing, combining creative thinking

What You'll Do

• Own and craft engaging copy that inspires and informs across all touch points of the brand, with a focus on social media copy for organic and paid media.
• Set the vision and lead the creation of compelling editorial content for BR's storytelling vertical, "The Journal."
• Write compelling copy for BR's diverse content verticals and needs, ranging from brand emails and product naming to SMS-tailored messaging.
• Independently manage editorial elements of assigned projects throughout entire production cycle; attend all kick-offs and creative reviews and collaborate with marketing, production, design and merch teams.
• Proactively partner with marketing, apparel design, and merchant teams to understand brand and product strategy and translate into effective copy.
• Deploy a keen eye for grammar and copy editing for all copy deliverables

Who You Are

• 5+ years of writing and editing experience, preferably with a fashion retailer or fashion publication. (No technical writers, please.)
• Proven ability writing and editing brand copy in the digital space.
• Well versed in how to use and write for social media outlets (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Pinterest).
• Ability to create and execute a broad creative copy vision, from daily product-focused emails to big-picture campaign tag lines.
• Detail-oriented (from tracking character counts for social media outlets to SEO optimization)
• Mastery of the English language with a professional competency on copy editing.
• Good interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
• Articulate thinker with an ability to take creative direction, react quickly, and interact productively during brainstorming sessions and kick-off meetings.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage own workload across multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
