Gabriela Hearst is seeking a full-time Marketing & Communications Assistant to manage samples and liaise with staff from the marketing, wholesale, and design departments. One year of fashion internship experience required.

Role description:

  • The full-time position will work with staff from the marketing, wholesale, and design departments on both day-to-day as well as bigger picture needs, reporting to both VP and Director level staff

  • Assist with executing global sample trafficking

  • Ensure all samples are logged and tracked through Launchmetrics and maintain records of their whereabouts

  • Assist in packaging daily shipments to various photoshoots/VIP events and monitor logistics of shipping to ensure delivery

  • Compile weekly press recap analyzing sample traffic and special project initiatives

  • Organize and maintain the showroom, and sample and archival closets

  • Assist with overseeing dressing pulls for VIPs, editorial shoots, and special projects

  • Research new VIP suggestions for dressing placements

  • Liaise with PR agencies

  • Assist with runway show preparation and photoshoot styling, including garment steaming, organizing model cards and model kits, dressing models, packing looks, making deliveries, packaging, etc.

Skills and requirements:

  • Years of Experience required: Previous fashion internship experience required

  • Experience with Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Creative Suite: Word, Excel and PowerPoint and/or Google Workspace: Sheets, Slides, Docs and Drive, Launchmetrics, Outlook, etc.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills

  • Superior time management skills, ability to work quickly & efficiently, prioritize and multitask

  • Passionate and hardworking

  • Ability to work well within a team

  • Global mindset and continuous self-learner

  • Detail-oriented with an analytical mindset

  • Highly motivated and enthusiastic with a can-do attitude and the ability to gracefully manage up

  • Ability to handle a fast-paced environment

  • Willingness to learn and maintain a positive attitude under pressure


After more than a decade spent in design in New York, Gabriela honored her family’s heritage through the launch of her eponymous label in Fall 2015.

Gabriela’s commitment is to make a strong and modern collection without compromising her ethics and key values, taking into consideration where materials come from and who is making them: luxury with a conscience or in other words, “honest luxury”.

Wool has always been an integral part of her life and knitwear is the cornerstone of the brand. For Fall 2016 collection, Gabriela partnered with a women’s nonprofit, Manos del Uruguay.

Each garment is an item into which Gabriela can pour her desire— made with impeccable construction and uncompromising, noble materials. Together, they tell a story of the places she loves that made her who she is: Uruguay and New York. Combining the utilitarian and the beautiful, she wanted to design long-lasting garments that hold memories for the woman who wears them. She is a real woman, alluring and powerful, but there is much action in her life and these clothes are her uniform, her armor.

She launched in 2016 her Nina Bag which started as a limited edition series bag and now has an extensive waiting list.

In June 2016, Gabriela collaborated with Tod’s to update their classic slip-on sneaker with a men’s brogue detail and Morse-code trim that reads “love” – twenty percent of proceeds went to Save the Children.

Gabriela Hearst is available at Bergdorf Goodman in the US, Net-a-Porter, Matches Fashion and My Theresa online, Selfridges in the UK, Le Bon Marche in France, Lane Crawford, Joyce and Boon the Shop in Asia.

Gabriela is the winner of the 2016/17 International Woolmark Prize for womenswear.

In March 2017, Gabriela was nominated for the CFDA Swarovski Award for Emerging Talent.
