JOB PURPOSE

Project Destination is the major refurbishment of Burberry's head offices in Horseferry Road, London.

Reporting to the Programme Lead, the INTERIM Senior Programme Manager will lead the delivery of Project Destination from concept design through project completion (circa 12 months). This includes project management of multiple interrelated workstreams across all business areas with a focus on creative, architecture and design stakeholders. Specifically, the Senior Programme Manager will oversee, track and report on progress across all project workstreams ensuring the overall programme delivery will be on time, within budget and to a high-quality standard. Finally, they will closely manage risk/issues with a focus on meeting the Burberry defined objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Development and maintenance of effective relationships with key internal and external (e.g. External Consultants and Architects) stakeholders to ensure alignment with the programme's strategic and delivery objectives.
  • Delivery of the programme in accordance with the governance requirements. In collaboration with the Programme Lead ensure that the appropriate approvals are granted, value for money is delivered and project benefits are realised.
  • Deliver commercial, financial and schedule performance for all relevant projects in accordance with project objectives, including maintaining high standards for budgeting, forecasting, commercial.
  • Participate in the definition of project scope, goals and deliverables as project progresses
  • Engage business functional leads to maintain programme vision sponsorship and collaboration
  • Create and maintain accurate, up-to-date master programme plans, continually revising to reflect changes in the programme - and manage third party providers to ensure adherence to planning expectations
  • Provide input into project plans, and create programme plans which highlight the cross-project dependencies and interrelated activities, deliverables, and milestones
  • Create a framework for cross-project collaboration within the programme, and ensure adherence to the framework
  • Create and maintain accurate programme-wide Risk / Assumption / Issues / Dependencies (RAID) log and ensure that the relevant parties are involved in addressing each factor
  • Holding and chairing regular meetings with key partners inside and outside the business to co-ordinate and communicate important updates to the business.

PERSONAL PROFILE

Technical skills;
  • Circa 15 years' programme or project management experience, in real estate or a related industry
  • Holds or able to attain a certified accreditation project or programme management qualification
  • Experience using MS Project to complete programme and project management activities
  • Strong understanding of programme and project management principles, terminology, key success factors, and methodologies
  • Ability to diagnose and remedy poor project management practices
  • Strong track record of on-time, on-budget and to-specification delivery of programmes and projects
  • Luxury experience is desirable

Leaderships and communication skills;
  • Proven ability to lead and influence without direct authority
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to convey information succinctly and concisely
  • Excellent proven stakeholder management skills at Board and/or ExCo level
