Product Manager - Collections & Collaborations - Maternity Contract

PURPOSE:  

A dynamic and pivotal role, with a broad remit stretching from Product Development; commercialisation of the Product Collections; range planning and working directly with global sales data and consumer insight & behaviour. You will be responsible for the Fred Perry shirt, Blank Canvas and Collaborations.

Reporting to the Product Director

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

To work collaboratively with and drive a dynamic cross business team covering all aspects of Product Development from Design concept through to global launch

To manage the development process of the Fred Perry Collections, in line with the Business Plan & Strategy

  • Working closely with multiple areas of the business in the planning and execution of the Collections
  • Working with the Head of Creative & the Design Team on the execution of the creative direction
  • Working collaboratively the Head of QA & Sustainability to ensure the collections are responsibly sourced and developed. Building in sustainability from the design stage
  • To ensure that the range is delivered, quality is well executed, and that it fulfils both the requirements of the Brand and the Global Markets
  • Build and deliver the seasonal Business strategy based on global analysis & Market insight
  • To be able to build and maintain excellent working relationships with our internal Business Teams and Global Supply base
  • Management of team workload, development and career progression in the form of a 6-month review and yearly appraisal
  • Manage product team to deliver new fabrics, new graphic techniques and trims by factory sourcing and comp shops
  • Lead Key meetings throughout the Design & Development process working towards final Business sign off

THE PERSON:

  • Graduate with a relevant degree and/or up to 10 years’ experience in Product Development
  • Passionate about product and leading by example with the ability to mentor and train the wider Team members
  • A natural leader with strong communicational skills
  • A self-driven, team player, able to work both independently as well as collaboratively with the wider Teams(s)
  • Expert knowledge of product construction and experienced working with varied global supply bases
  • Quick to react to, evaluate and resolve the day-to-day issues that arise during the development process
  • Comfortable multi-tasking and managing a diverse workload across multiple quarters

HOURS:

We actively encourage our teams to have a good work/life balance and so we are pleased to offer flexible working shifts at Fred Perry HQ. Our core shift hours are from 10am – 4.30pm and so employees can choose to start and finish early, or start and finish late. (i.e. work 8:00am-4:30pm, or 10:00am-6:30pm etc). We also have 30-minute early finish on Fridays.

As we continue to work in a more flexible way, the Head Office acts a brand hub, where we can all connect and collaborate with one another. This role is a mix of office based (London) and remote working. We will expect the employee to come into the office regularly for face-to-face meetings and to work alongside their team on collaborative projects.
