The position focuses on the sourcing and development of raw materials. This individual is responsible for working with the Design team to source, develop, and approve all raw materials. This person is responsible for maintaining and continuing to build relationships with existing and new vendors.


  • Assign development to vendors based on their experience, cost, and capacity to meet target deadlines
  • Issue Purchase Orders to vendors ensuring accuracy of price. Include accurate and detailed notes as needed
  • Gather material information on a fabric detail spec sheet and set up the raw material in Full Circle
  • Maintain and update internal Microsoft Excel WIPs with vendors to communicate estimated completion dates, target completion dates, issues, or delays
  • Communicate estimated completion dates or delays to the Design and Development team through daily communication and weekly meetings
  • Review strike offs with the Design team and convey any changes or corrections to the vendor
  • Coordinate all development communication with vendors to ensure a smooth and efficient development process
  • Build and update fabric boards, Create and distribute fabric sheets, maintain an internal fabric library
  • Attend fabric trade shows and fabric meetings as needed to source new vendors, new materials, and cultivate relationships
  • Assist in the approval of fabric and trim for bulk production
  • Request, review, and approve costing
  • Review and approve vendor invoicing, provide necessary backup paperwork to accounting
  • Participate in physical inventories as needed, including end of year. Follow all established physical inventory procedures to ensure organization and accuracy


  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, flexible in changing direction as needed
  • Proficient with reviewing raw materials including weight, hand feel, stitching strength, and color
  • Candidate must be highly organized with ability to prioritize with a sense of urgency
  • Candidate must be a team player, willing and able to work cross-functionally with multiple departments
  • Proven history of consistently meeting development goals and showing improvements in areas such as raw material quality, efficiency, cost savings, etc.
  • Must have a strong knowledge of the raw material process as well as proven knowledge of developing a wide array of material (chiffon, knits, wovens, etc.)
  • Self-starter with a strong attention to detail


  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in raw material development
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working in a supervisory role with at least one direct report
  • Education or certification in raw development is a plus
  • Extremely proficient with MS Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Full Circle experience is preferred
  • Able to work and think independently as well as part of a team
  • Excellent follow-through and attention to detail
