Job Overview

The Specialist, Merchant Operations Analyst supports the merchant organization through the troubleshooting of systems. The Specialist, Merchant Operations Analyst's primary responsibility is to independently gather, collect, analyze and interpret data to develop actionable steps that improve merchant processes/operations to optimize business results.

The individual must be able to understand the business and systems needs at a detailed level and develop, evaluate and implement technology/business solutions as required. The position entails a great deal of business/system process analysis, project management, excel use and troubleshooting.

Essential Functions
  • Effectively analyze / troubleshoot issues and summarize/present complex findings to Senior Management
  • Implement business initiatives by analyzing business impact, feasibility, system constraints and business rules
  • Serves as liaison between Bloomingdale's and Macy's Inc. Represents Bloomingdale's on cross divisional meetings with multiple Macy's teams i.e. Macy Systems and Technology, Merchant Operations, Accounts Payable, and Vendor Services.
  • Pull data from various sources to develop reports and dashboards
  • Manage all phases of discovery work and systems rollouts including User Acceptance Testing
  • Identify trends and opportunities to streamline processes and create workflow efficiencies
  • Manage assigned merchant systems, functions, and databases and Uphold data integrity


Competencies
  • Bachelor's Degree from a 4-year college or university.
  • Practices open and continuous communication, effectively presenting information in a clear, concise manner.
  • Excellent leadership, facilitation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across functional lines and at many levels.
  • Ability to think creatively, strategically and technically.


Physical Requirements
  • Requires prolonged periods of sitting, with occasional standing.
  • Occasionally requires walking, bending, reaching, hearing and talking.
  • Continuous use of computers and other office equipment.
  • Frequently lift/move up to 25 lbs.
